I was just wondering what is usually wrong when they do the same thing they all inevitably do when they are old ... it won't come on at low or zero pressure until you thump the side and it turns on, raises to set pressure and turns off. I was hoping I couldd clean some contact or something

All very well, power in and motor power, if not indicated as in line and motor,. How do you know which is which

Negotive and positive is for dc power. Ac power is ground, natural, and hot. For basic 115v ground and nutural are very similar. You can operate a light by only running hot wire to it and putting the nutural wire in the ground lol. But don’t be surprised when worms come up from you doing so lol.

I'm wondering why mine will kick on, and then when the water is off. It keeps pumping. Seems the contacts keep touching and becomes stuck wide open when not in use. Is there and adjustment I can make for the contacts to create a wider gap?

What happens if the small tubing to the switch gets disconnected?? Would the pump run continuously till it burns out?

Thank you (911) Mother hen needs h20 for her chicks... Is there a way to do any adjustments without a working gauge on the pump or pressure tank. I bought the house and the pump was as is. The pump runs so far 20 min. and it never shut off. The pressure switch states that its calibrated at 30-50. I set the pressure , bladder tank at 28 psi with a pump. I don't know if the pressure switch is at the 30-50 factory settings. Is there a way to back out the screws and start over counting the turns. Or in a pinch get the pump to get water to the house. The pressure tank is empty and the pump just runs with out any water to house or well/trol pressure tank. Any help is appreciated.

What about the pressure in the tank

My compressor starts working and builds pressure up to 150psi but sometimes during work it will not start and won't keep tank charged. Sometimes it turns on only for a few seconds then goes quiet. Sometimes I hears something that it wants to start like air going somewhere through the pipe for about 2 second and then quiets and stays like that. Fails to keep up pressure in tank when I use it. Pressure goes low as 50psi but compressor doesn't start. Then I had to open drain valve to release remaining air pressure in the tank. Disconnect it from AC power for few minutes and it starts working again build up to 150psi again. I don't hear any air leaks. What could be wrong??

With a new 30-50 it will not close when the psi is 0 ?? What can I do??? Power is on.

Failed to specify whether tightening adjustment raised or lowered pressure setting. Also did not explain details on adjustments of second spring. Need a redo on this video!

I have a problem with my pressure regulator switch it is not engaging and it looks like the contacts are burnt

We are having a problem with the pressure being lost incredibly fast, never going above 23 seconds without switching on and usually around ten at the adjustments we've tried thus far. I have no clue if the pressure being lost so quickly is because of the adjustment switches or if it is a problem elsewhere in the pump or system. If anyone can help me, that would be much appreciated.

U didn't say which way to turn them to either raise or lower the pressure

Woke up 4 days ago to no water. The control box for the pump was buzzing. The pressure switch was completely rusted and corroded over. Had the pressure tank and softening system replaced 4 years ago... the company apparently thought I was an oblivious single, female home owner and wouldn’t notice if they cheaped out and not install a new pressure switch & pressure gauge. They were right, I didn’t notice-until now😡 I checked the breakers, they hadn’t tripped and were putting out 240 v. Checked the pressure tank. It’s fine, set properly with cut-in at 38 (40-60 for this tank). So I installed a new pressure gauge. Checked the power to the switch-it’s getting 240 v. But there’s no power in wires going to the control box. I looked at the box and saw that the start capacitor was blown. I just picked up a new one today for the 1/2 hp Franklin Electric control box. I haven’t tested the wires in the control box yet. My questions: 1) Can a bad/failing pressure switch cause the start capacitor to blow? 2) Is there no power going from the pressure switch out to the control box due to the blown capacitor? Can that cause a ‘dead’ reading on the volts from the switch to the control box? Thank you for your help, I know very little about electrical stuff, just enough to flip the breaker off before I touch anything!!!!

You put the wiring on the wrong terminals. L1 And L2 go on the outside terminals.
