I don't think that AMD is actually working on fixing this. ( i found this comment somewhere else and now im just giving it away since it worked for many of us ) However I believe I have found something (at least something that works for me). As always, I am not responsible for what you do, and if following my guide makes your computer explode, it's not my fault. I am asking some of you who are affected by this bug and ever had Epic Games Launcher installed to try this: Exit Epic Games Launcher if you have it open (right click it in the notification tray and click Exit) Open the folder %localappdata%\EpicGamesLauncher\Saved Rename the Logs folder to something like LogsBackup Try to open Radeon Software and hope it works Please respond if it fixed your issue or not, or if you don't even have the EpicGamesLauncher folder. If I find out it doesn't actually work and it was just a coincidence, I will edit this post to correct it.

I forgot to mention this in the video, please restart your PC after you apply this fix to make sure it works. Also make sure to factory reset your drivers if necessary, use a software like DDU from guru3d to make it easier if the adrenaline installer can't let you factory reset. Another solution is downloading a slightly older driver than the current one, then applying the fix. If you still don't understand the process you can go to the reddit thread by clicking the link in the description! If you have any questions please feel free to comment!

You can try to uninstall the driver using DDU and then reinstall with the latest drivers. Apply the fix afterwards to see if it works I guess...

Thanks so much. I had this problem ever since I had my laptop, and had to reset windows and re-install the original software included and could never update it without this problem happening. So I was stuck on ver 23.x.x for over a year, now I am finally on a working version 24.7.1

I followed the tutorial, I have been watching multiple tutorials and none of them work for me, what happens to me is that when I try to start amd adrenaline it "starts" but it closes if I try to open the window where the configurations appear. (even in games the alt+r doesnt work)

Guys I Need Help!!!!!! I have a Asus TUF A15 Gaming Laptop. On my laptop when I try to open the AMD Software it just shows the minimise full screen and clode buttons on the screen. The application doesn't open. I have tried deleting the CN folder. I cannot uninstall the software because it was pre installed(I don't know the way to uninstall pre installed apps). Please i need help because I am trying to update my graphics drivers.

It still wont work for me. I did everything step by step except creating an extra folder at the end because it said I dont have the rights to make a new folder. When I open the adrenalin software the same thing happens: It opens for split second and then instantly closes. Did I miss something?

hey man I have a 5700 and a 7800xt that I just bought used yesterday, was told all the drivers are up to date, when trying to start fortnite it loads and just crashes and shows it’s still running in the launcher even when closed any clue what’s going on ?

That could be an issue from fortnite not AMD, maybe you can try to ddu the drivers and reinstall again. Maybe it's something to do with the anti cheat but other than that I'm not so sure.

@@Que123-yc5rm when you open the power options make sure to click change plan settings > on [turn off the display]: click the drop down arrow > change from whatever hours to never > do the same for [put the computer to sleep]

hello egpu user here, it stops detecting the gpu after doing this so for those who do it with a egpu on a laptop or mini pc that's the warning. just keep it as is and end task through task manager and delete can folder when you need to mess with the settings

Oh my god i'm genuinely suprised this worked. I couldnt launch adrenaline ever since updating to 24.8.1. It's insane to me this bug has apparently persisted for this long and AMD hasn't even addressed this issue. Definitely makes me more sceptical about buying AMD again whenever I will have to upgrade my GC. Thank you so much man.

I used a ddu an upon re installing it I noticed on that this time it said "repair" on the install lil tab that pops up and now when I double on the gmdb.blb is tells me " you do not have permission to open this file. See the owner of the file or an administrator to obtain permission

Try uninstalling the driver using DDU and reinstall with the latest driver, make sure to apply this fix afterwards and restart your pc.

Solved. That was because of the Epic Games. I changed the Epic Games appdata -> 'log' folder name to 'logbackup', and it just works.

I found a suggestion from some site but never tried it: Click on Windows and type Task Scheduler. Go to Task Scheduler Library and look for “ModifyLinkUpdate” under Authors you'll see Advanced Micro Devices. Open it and go to the Triggers tab. Select the trigger that says “On workstation unlock” and delete it. Restart the pc

@@ThisSteven i just used the adrenaline installer and installed amd drivers again and before u do install it there is a square you can tick off where it says something like " Delete all previous and current existing versions of the adrenaline driver(factory reset)" it just deletes all the drivers that are installed in your pc and replaces it with a the one you just installed which could be an older version

I know it's a pretty old graphics card, but I'm very disappointed in AMD with this, my friend has an older graphics card, and it works fine. Why, if they don't want to provide support for older graphics cards, why does it say a new driver when I select rx 580. Let them limit the driver version, let it go to legacy and bye. This is how I try to update the driver, none of them work after 23.4.3. @@sknoorahamid

Yes, you do make a notepad out of it, first make sure to uncheck "hide extensions for known filetypes" in file explorer options, then create a notepad titled gmdb.blb, make sure to add a 0 inside the notepad and save.

Just upgraded my rig with a new Hellhound 7800 XT / 7600x. The 23.10 update works fine and I was able to make the 23.11 one work with your fix. But still no luck with the 23.12 update 🥲 I'll just wait for the next one, hoping it will work better ! Thanks !

You have to make sure that you can modify file types, if you see the end portion of the video I have shown how to enable that function. All you need to do is type in gmrevert.blb and press enter when you create a new text file.

This still doesn't work for me, well this is just it I guess. Because I've tried some and didn't work. I was just trying to update mine to the latest and it recommended me "AMD Radeon R5 M330 (Legacy)" but it seemed that the AMD company doesn't plan to release them anymore. I've tried re-installing The latest one but still had the same result. Tried the 2020 and 2019 edition and still didn't work. I happen to recall what my previous one looked like. It was just LITERALLY 2 settings which are: GAMING and SYSTEM Preference setting can also be opened on the bottom left. If anyone knows what version is the one I mention, please tell me.

my way to solve this problem on 03/02/24 remove the 24.2.1 driver using DDU through Windows safe mode and reinstall the 24.1.1 version of the driver. After these steps, everything works fine.

@evelean7845 I can not get Adrenalin to work for 3 months.the card will get hot if the fans are not spinning. AMD raid software won't work so my ASUS raid card won't work unless I use 2 year old software. ----I might go back to NVIDIA.

@@gerald4027 No,buy I managed to fix problem by installing DDU(display driver uninstaller) and using it in safe mode to delete all the amd drivers.You can search how to uninstall amd drivers with ddu on youtube,there are a lot of tutorials.
