3 years later and this video still helping people. Definitely helped me this week! Had the same problem, went on Amazon, ordered the part ($10.00) waited two days and BOOM! Fixed it within 30 mins. Working like new. Saved me $$$ on having to call a repair tech or even then more money from buying a brand new washer. Thank you my good sir! You are a gentleman and a scholar! :)
Thank you for posting the RU-vid video on how to fix the LE error on Kenmore and LG washers. The repair company told my parents it would be over $1,100.00 to fix after their $115.00 service call. My parents were going to buy a new machine, but after watching your video and buying the part on Amazon for $10.49, their machine is as good as new. It only took me 10 minutes to fix!
Perfect tutorial. I just repaired my washer for under $12. All by myself, no appliance repair experience whatsoever! 48yo female. Thank you so much for sharing.
Echoing what people have said below, we replaced the sensor and no longer get the LE error. Our loads now wash in the proper time and don't stop! Thank you for your video, it was very helpful. The washer is working perfectly again! :-) Videos like this are so helpful to homeowners and I am very thankful you put it up. We fixed our problem for less than $15!!
Had a LE error on my LG washer. Called a factory certified technician and he said it will take close to three hundred plus to replace the coil. Bought the sensor for $12 on Amazon and a 1 inch socket for $3.5 from HomeDepot to remove the nut....replaced the sensor myself and my washer is back running as it was earlier...took me 30 mins in total.....if not for this video, I would have ended up buying a new washer. Sincere thanks to you.
I was not sure if it applied to a Top Washer and yes it does . The issue is not evident as it sound as it did hit something but no , the sound come from the motor going crazy because of the wrong speed position of the motor rotor and than it stop with the Error CODE LE . We even bought another new washer before finding this You Tube video so i got a Hall sensor parts Locally 46$ and after installation it did work perfectly so we cancel the new washer that was going to be delivered in 2 days. Thank you so much for posting this repair video. We did save the cost of a new washer 1200$ and the environment.
Thanks for sharing! OMG! I couldn't get that 17mm bolt off for anything. I ended up resolving my LE error, but unplugging the sensor cable for 5 min. Upon reconnecting & testing was able to see the drum spin. I put the metal back plate back on and now my washer is working good as new. I'm so happy I didn't have to have a tech come fix it. Now I can treat myself to a nice relaxing dinner :) Hopefully this someone else too!
Thanks for the great video brother! I had the same problem going on so I went ahead and ordered the part from Amazon for $10 Prime. Got it about an hour ago and followed your instructions on installation. Up and running a lot of laundry to do. Thanks Again
Great to hear! Thank you, I never get tired of hearing that you were able to #DIY. You have a great attitude!!! " I learned something new" . God Bless!!!
I just followed your tutorial and YOU SAVED ME! ME SALVASTE! Bless you my family can keep going and you MOST certainly got to the point which saved me time! You got right to it…no doing the most! Gracias! I ordered part and kept going! My first major fix my papa will be super proud I didn’t run to him first! Yes!
Thank you for your video and to my wife for doing the investigation work and finding your video. I’m sure if the “rotor “ or drum needed to be replaced but thanks again.
Thanks for the helpful video. I did my sensor while watching your video and it certainly helped me out. So again thank you sir. Mine is back to normal operation.
Wow thanks for this video. I had the exact same problem with identical washer. Was about an hour worth of work and a lot of money saved. Paid $25 for the part.
Not all LG washers have a hall sensor (aka rotor position sensor). The models ending in CW (Cold Wash) generally use the control board to control the motor and there is no hall sensor. If you have a LE error on these machines you need to check for physical damage to the stator or wire harness, and use a multimeter to check for continuity and resistance. In rare cases it could be the PCB board (as the board controls the motor speed). You can google "LG xxxx parts diagram" where xxx is the model number to determine if your machine has a hall sensor. Stators and PCB boards are very expensive parts... wire harnesses are cheaper and you can often splice/repair them yourself.
I wonder if I just got a bad sensor. I watched your video and said this is it. I’ll fix it myself and get it done, it didn’t work. It still says LE error. What else could it be?
WM9500HKA ~2 years old. Stator and wiring in new condition so LE code was unexpected. After following your directions, disassembly showed that my washer has no Hall Sensor and the wiring harness has no sensor connector. Sensor from Amazon (6501kw2002a) mounts easily, but again, NO wiring harness connector. Did LG recently change their configuration for this type of washer?
He just forgot to . mention 1 minor detail, the nut holding the stator has to be tightened with a tork wrench to a specific pound torque. This are very high rpms and if not done right is an accident waiting to happen, well, but he saved some money.
@@MaldonadosGarage it's 88foot/ LBS torque better safe than sorry, is your family, I understand home owners want to save some money, but at what cost? Is the outer nut holding the stator cover assembly.
Wow, 88 ft lbs seems high for a stator. It sounds like a broken bolt to me..... Not sure about the nut, this video was from a while ago.... Thanks for your input. Hope you have your beat year yet!
@@MaldonadosGarage back in 2012 half a million LG washers were recalled because they were shaking violently and in some cases the drums came loose resulting in damages and injuries to people, I always follow factory recommendations, I'm just a tech, not an engineer. You still think that the torque is too much
@jenniferm5375 that's a lot of washers. There are no arguments here 😀 , glad you were willing to share this important information on proper torque spec. Keep on teching!
What were your symptoms? Mine acts like it wants to spin but something is blocking the drum and throws LE code subsequently. The drum is free to spin by hand so it’s not blocked. Is that something you had as well? Thanks for the video btw
My LG washer gave me a LE code so I did the diagnostic with the app and it said my water supply was weak or blocked. I realized my cold water pipe was frozen so I thawed it and washer worked great.
Over soaping or over loading puts to much drag on the motor causing the hall sensor to burn out. Be sure to use HE soap only one pod or 1 ounce. If you see suds in the window while washing you are using the wrong soap or too much.
hello i repl;aced the RPS a bout 1 month ago and it worked fine till yeserday after i opnly put 2 towels and i got the LE error code again and i called LG and they said remove the 2 towels and i stillget the LE error code and i did a power reset and i still get the LE error code
THANK U SO VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO I OFTEN COME TO RU-vid FOR REPAIRS TO DO MYSELF AND ALWAYS GET THE PERFECT PERSON N VIDEO TO HELP ME, I BOUGHT MY PART FROM AMAZON FOR $10.99 JUST FINISHED WHAT TOOK ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES AFTER GETTING THE FIRST BOLT OFF WASHER WORKING PERFECT.
How do you know if it’s just the sensor vs the stator that’s toasted? My front washer stopped spinning and I’m not sure to buy the sensor or the stator from Amazon
Wt1071CV, it’s an older front-loader I can’t find online anymore that looks similar to the new 2.6 front loaders by LG except it doesn’t have ThinQ. I’ve replaced the hall-sensor and I’m still getting LE errors.. I’m not sure if it’s the wiring harness because the harness itself looks perfectly fine.
@@MaldonadosGarage’m kind of at a loss, I’m debating just buying a new machine at this point or sink a further $60 for a new wiring-harness, the diagnosing and buying parts in hoping they’ll fix my problem is starting to add up…
@@deleqtronica8733had the same is, it’s very rare to happen after u change out the sensor, however the main control board is not recognizing any rpm’s from the sensor, u need a new main control board
My Lg front end washer wont compete the spin cycle when i have a load in it. it try's to cycle through, like it will start spinning one way, then the other but will not speed up.. As it starts to speed up, the tub really starts to move around and then after several attempts, it shuts down and error code LE. However, when I run it empty, it completes the cycle no problem. Any idea's what the cause might be.. Looks to me that no matter what size load, the tube as its speeding up will shake pretty violently.. Appreciate any help.
I had same issue, it’s very rare to still get the LE after u change out the sensor, however the board cannot recognize any rpm’s from the sensor so it’ll continue to throw that code until u replace the main control board
Hi. I know you posted a while now. I followed the video and sensor got fixed, but now while spinning it makes a grinding noise. Did I not push the rotor all the way in. Why is this sound? Help please
My LG washer tries to start , Hums and won’t unless I give it a push and then it starts moving . When the drum stops it wants to do it all over again , I have to push the rotor to get the drum to start spinning. Anybody have any suggestions? Bearing? Plastic teeth?? Sensor??
Thank you, sure hope the new sensor gets your dryer back up. Please share if the sensor was the fix so that it can help others that may run across this video. Thanks for watching!
The 17 mm nut was tight, and I used the poor man's impact wrench, a large box end wrench and a hammer. Why do you work in the dark? You don't have a screwdriver. When your only tool oi a hammer. every thing looks like a nail.
*i Can rewrite in english if necessary.
LE replaced HALL sensor still no go stator gets hot buzz oscilator noise no spin check wires blue red white grey sensor continuity to pcb 3 motor coil wires 5 ohms restinace went into test mode still woyuld not spin is there main pcb fault trys 2, 3 min bleeps LE
Hopefully it's not the control board. Zack Nelson will show you how to check test it. Check it out, let us know. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J11Thy0vW0Y.html
Thanks for the video. I normally go OEM but this customer is far away so I did Amazon to save time and get the part in quicker. It had 165 all 5-star reviews and claimed "better than OEM". Of course, it worked perfectly for two loads, one while I was there and one afterwards, then the LE code came back up. I check the harness pretty thoroughly with the exception that I didn't remove the taped section. Would bad shocks have anything to do with causing this to your knowledge/experience? I've only had to do this job three times, this is the only one that failed again after working.
@@deleqtronica8733 I imagine it's the main control board but my customer didn't want to put the money into it. The stator wasn't cracked that I could see. Some have a motor control board as well. It's been a while so I don't remember if this one did.
@@aerlial360 thanks for the reply! I have another question hopefully you can help me with, but you you know how many pound of torque should I torque the main bolt holding the drum?
@@deleqtronica8733 Having the right toque isn't necessary. You hand tighten it and then, believe it or not, give your ratchet a couple hard taps with a hammer. I use a rubber mallet. Same with removing it.
I replaced the sensor and the rotor with no luck. Rotor still hums like it wants to turn but won’t. Bearing is smooth and quiet, must be an electrical problem with the stator or a relay???? The rotor splines were iffy but obviously not the problem. Anybody have a suggestion?
Yeah well, I have a wm0642hw and it turned out the problem was the braided anti leak stainless steel hoses, these evident have some kind of valve in them and the water pressure in my house stopped the hose up.. same 1E, lE error.. figured this out after having swapped out the sensor.
Great to hear you got your machine going again, sorry the video did not help. Thank you for sharing what your fix was, hopefully it can helps others as well.
Hi everyone, hope your dryers are still going strong! I have been asked on several occasions if I had a means to receive a donation. I really didn't know it was possible until recently. Thank you to for this form of gratitude. I have created a donation link through paypal on the top right of my home page if you are still interested. I greatly appreciate you all.
