Mark I made a mistake with mic placement with the client's hair brushing on the lav and normally wouldn't have to do all of this but after spending 2 hours in a panic trying to fix my error, I stumbled on this absolute GOLD. Concise, to the point, covered multiple situations without dragging on the vid and taught me how to apply it to different situations. I APPRECIATE YOU
Cheers for this. I’m profoundly deaf so trying to alter sounds by ear is pretty hard for me. Honestly, the original and the final edit doesn’t sound too different to me, but then I don’t hear things like light echo and white noise. So thank you for providing a step by step guide so that I can improve my videos for everyone else!
Thank you so much for the tips! Currently editing footage I recorded with friends and our audio is all over the place; friend's audio is peaking all over the place while i'm too low. Was really stuck on what to do about it except just lowering/raising the track volume. This was very clear and helpful for fixing it!
So helpful. I never write comments but I appreciate what you are doing and how you do it. I have been working on trying to improve audio and I was about to search when handy dandy Mark Harrison goes and points out stuff that I needed to know. There are so many things hidden in menus but it's hard when you don't know where to look or what to touch. Thank you.
Great audio Vlog, Thanks Mark, Audio is one of my big challenges and i in general don't do very much except get rid of wind noise etc, Your knowledge of Final Cut Pro is exceptional, thanks for sharing
This really helped me a lot, Mark! 🙌🏻 A big, big Thank You for your great tutorials and travel videos 🙏🏻☺️ It's always a pleasure to watch them! Greetings from Germany, Karim 🏍☀️✌🏻
Wow that’s a lot of work brah!! But thanks for the info! I needed this right now. Been trying to get better at audio and have a big project right now that’s super important and almost all the audio needs fixin.. you da man!
Be careful only generically boosting lows and lowering highs. This can create a muffled sound. I personally think the audio in this video sounds a bit muffled. I didn't listen with headphones, I used my 3rd party computer speakers instead. It may not be ideal with the 10-band, but there will be a higher frequency that will help improve clarity without thinning the voice. Everyone is a bit different but it should be somewhere in the 2-4k range. What I've been using is around 2900. I'm sure I could tweak this a bit more, but it seems to be ok for now. Overall though, this is a great video to improve audio. I had never played with the Enveloper effect. I never knew what it did. I can see it being very useful.
This is the best white noise and hiss remover tutorial for fcpx. I have the crumplepop plugin which is great when it works, but is just too unreliable. Thank you for this tutorial
Thanks for making this tutorial Mark! Audio is always my number one issue I notice in videos and trust me I have had troubles with audio as well. Curse you leaf blower!
THX for the vid on better sound. Do you have a video or can you make one on How one actually save your intro and outro so you can import them into other projects to stay consistent on all videos? Also, how can one save just the music and logo from the intro and import them into other projects? Hope my questions makes sense. Thx Michael 😊
Thank you. The exported file always sounded tinny in my videos, whenever we shot indoor shoots. This really helped. Do you have any settings for outdoor shots? What filters do we apply in those cases?
This was perfect Mark! Thanks so much. Question - Whenever I try to edit an audio clip and then split the clip, the beginning of the next portion of the click sounds much louder and has a lot more background noise than the clip that just ended. Is there a fix for this?
Many thanks for your video Mark, the problem is that when I use Voice enhance in my edits & post to youtube my voice goes higher as if the speed has increased on the voice. I edited a sample with standard flat setting & the voice was normal, once I added audio enhancement it raised the pitch of my voice. Any idea why? Regards
Hey man, Im having an issue when I import and drag footage of someone speaking onto the timeline, their voice sounds deeper. Every time, with both male and female voices. Any ideas?
