Not only is this the same toilet as mine, you also have the *exact* same orange cat wanting to be involved. How funny. Thanks for explaining the height adjustment, thats what I was looking for.
I came hoping to see how to open the top and replace the gasket but since you had trouble getting that part I will just replace mine with a Fluidmaster filler now, this one is not as good of a design. I stayed for the cat and great quick how to!
This video was very helpful! I had the similar model R&T a2417 valve, all new to me. it was leaking all over and the water would not stop running. I am used to using Fluidmaster products and didn't know if it would work with this "dual flush" thing but it works just fine. I got a fluidmaster valve for 10 dollars usd at ACE, the salesman cautioned to be sure the new one would fit the tank (watch height and width) but otherwise connect it and will be back up and running. the fluidmaster came with a new hose, clip, and retention ring. This video shows the same steps except underneath the tank the retaining nut was hard to remove. I used pliers and turned the valve counter/clockwise to loosen...keep a small pan and towels to catch water, after installing the new valve, you play with the water level setting and good to go.
Glacier Bay, if you bought it at HD has lifetime warranty on the parts so you just have to contact them and and they should send you part for free. There should be a let nr on the bottom of the tank lid and it should also have your part nr.
I used a fluidmaster universal fill valve and its working just fine. the guy at ACE hardware (US) cautioned though, make sure you have enough width and height in the tank to accomodate the different valve. hooked it up to the old hose and working fine.
@@MaciejPiotrowski I tried to connect a water hose from the tap to the water box, but the water did not enter, as if it was closed. What do you think is the reason?
