Thank you very much for your video. Nobody wanted to repair my lenses. They said it would be too costly. My son followed your advice and repaired it in no time/cost at all.

To save time and the hassle if something goes wrong I recommend powering up the LEDs with the diffuser sheet mounted before placing the LCD screen back in place and reassemble everything. If the lens is just slightly out of center position you will still have a visible dot or ring on the screen. Learned it the hard way while replacing single LEDs.

Informative video snowkingcro, even without the audio. I'd rate this job a 3.5 out of 5 for the first time or a novice not having any experience with this on the difficulty scale & embarrassingly, it took me all day (with frequent breaks and letting glued reflectors set up. I viewed your video & a couple of others before attempting this job on my 42" TV. Initially, my tv showed only 2 white spots ( near center of tv). Tried living with it rather than risk making it worse but could not. So, after opening the tv up, half a dozen more reflectors fell off. My tv has 32 reflectors. It is 4 yrs old, an Lg, costing around $450.00 in 2015-16. After following your video making repairs, I began closing up the tv, more reflectors came off. Then more, then more again. By now, I was convinced that even those that did not fall off, probably should be removed and RE-GLUED also (but that didn't happen). I re-attached maybe 15-20. I actually found it a little taxing trying to glue the reflectors back on with the 3 bumps on the bottom of the reflectors aligning up with the 3 holes on the tv panel. And my eyesight is just ok, not like it used to be. I recall one viewer responding saying that they thought adding some REMOVABLE tape to the 4 corners of the front glass screen to the frame before beginning because the glass has at least 1/4" spacing (gap) all around the glass inside the frame. The tape would keep the glass centered (stationary). I didn't do it and reassembling made the 2 ribbons on bottom on tv screen not line up perfectly by about 1/4" with the 2 circuit board plugs causing me to lift the tv off the glass several times and move the glass while in the frame 1/4" to the side till things lined up. Upon completing the job & turning on the tv, things were almost perfect with the exception of a very faint quarter size white dot bottom right corner that barely is noticeable being a smaller white dot than previously & not nearly as bright, and not in the center of the tv! Huge improvement. Maybe the one reflector did not get seated in the slots flush. Maybe should have bench tested before closing it up but being impatient, my mind was made up to trash this set if it was the same or worse afterwards. And, I expect more reflectors to come off later, ha ha. Don't think I'll do this again but who knows... I got more glue left over. Fast forward 6 months later, the one white dot reflector/lens that I replaced liked the others still remained visibly showing on the screen seemed to vanish. As with all the white dots originally, they were only visible with certain colored backgrounds initially. I am amazed at the folks completing this task under 2 hrs. Took me that long to move furniture, getting the set off the wall. Well done all.

I confirm! It really works for LG 32 LB561U. Thanks man. You help me and save my money! The TV master wanted to repair $ 20. P.S: For gluing lenses, I used nail gel glue. I could not find glue b7000 in my city. But you need to be very careful in using this glue. The glue is very liquid, you need to put 3 small point to each pin. This is my method I don’t call anyone to use this method.

Excellent video. I own a LG Cinema 3D and had 2 reflectors fallen. I followed the exact steps from the video and it works like a charm now. Saved around 5k rupees. All you need is a screwdriver set and super glue. Indians can buy Fevi Kwik Gel (comes in Red color instead of traditional blue ) as it is easy to apply in a controlled area. Note that you have to apply a very minimal amount of glue. Thanks again 😁👍

Thank you very much, completely worked for me. Two lenses fell of, but nearly every single one was loose. I reglued all of them. Lost two pixels during the repair, but thats okay, the backlight is ok again, what more can you ask for.

Thanks for sharing this useful information. My LG 32 inch LED TV had developed 3 white spot and after watching your video I could successfully fix those white spots. The only challenge I faced was I had trouble disconnecting display cable which is different for my LED than shown in this video. Then I had to refer other video available on RU-vid to disconnect that cable.

What a great instructional video. I was ready to scrap my LG ... 42LF5500 due to white spot. Initially, the thought of stripping down the TV did not seem a good idea but by carefully following the video the repair was straight forward and TV is back working perfectly. Thanks snowkingcro.

I repaired my TV and used Selleys All Clear (In Australia). Will report back how long it lasts. Be aware that the screen is aligned in the factory by robots and there is nothing that actually aligns it in the frame, It is just held in place by the rubber. So my handy tip, which I wish I'd thought of BEFORE I chipped the screen is to put masking tape on the four sides of the screen and frame BEFORE you pull it apart so that the screen keeps its position when you pull it apart :)

Great video, thanks! It did work in fixing the white spots. However when assembling the TV back together one on the reflectors on the other side EASILY came away. I might be wrong but it seems like these modern TV sets aren't made to last like the old tube televisions. I've noticed a lot of people who have had the same problem with their fairly new LCD TV sets.

It is a very educative practical video. I'll try this on my LED LG 42LB550A. It shows three white dots on the screen when it's powered on. Hope this video will solve the problem.

Good video , it shows us how the backlight is on the LB series , i have the 32 LB 650V and i'm starting to see some brighter spots where the power board is located , particularity with white backgrounds , so i think it is just a matter of time before the led reflector inside my TV start to fall like yours (the problem of reflector falling seems to be related to heat i think ) , the only downside of this method , is that you can bring dust and debris between the backlight and the LCD panel , the more bigger the panel , the more dust and debris it can catch.

1. I tried using a pair of vacuum suckers to lift up the the screen and put it back in place from the above, it works fine and offers better control than how it is done in the video. I have done it twice and the screen seems to take the suction pressure well, so far no marks or damages. 2. It seems that, beside matching the three points, the lens also need to be installed in right direction, which you can tell on the marks printed under the lens. It appears to me the lens on the right and left sides have a 180 degree difference. 3 I used UV glue, but still some will fall off after I re-installed the TV (LG55LBXXXXX),

This is great with or without sound! I have a 55" Samsung that has this same type of dot in it. Now I feel like I can fix the issue pretty easy without paying a repair person tons of money.

Great Video. Quick Question. Did this completely resolve your issue ? Also did it reoccur ever again and you have repair as before ? Is it still in fact working today with no issues ? Also can I use Gorilla Glue clear of course.

Very helpful. I tried it on a 65". Mostly the same except some really tiny screws holding that black frame in place and a bunch more screen layers. Only I had a helluva time putting it back together, and when I did, the screen had scratches all over (despite laying it on a sheet). #epicfail !!

Very informative and thanks for that video. I talked to a technician Of LG and he told me that it costs me around 80$ (5000 rupees in indian currency) ,just to keep the glue and fix it where it was .Amount is high such that i can't afford and not at all reasonable. What do you recommend me to do ?

There are a few sheets after back light. Is the thinner diffusers below and the thicker white sheet above? Would it make any difference which places first and so forth? Thanks for advice.

I took and re glued all of my lenses back on the three legs with gorilla super glue and let them sit for 24 hours and put it back together picture is good but I still see faint white circles in the screen what could be the problem. The picture is good but there are some faint white circles still. Thank You!!

Hi, its a very good video. My LG 42LB5600 tv got white spots, which turned black over time and a week back the whole screen went black. Now, when i turn on the tv, the screen blinks and then turns black. But I can hear the sounds. I read somewhere that i need to replace my LED lights panel. But I am not sure if those white and black spots will also get fixed by replacing the panel. What do you suggest?

What to do in case of T.V.

Well, everything was going swimmingly, until I slid the white panel that covered the diffusers and accidentally sliced what I think is a vital component that controls the LCD display. Looks like a tape with circuits. FML EDIT: Thank you for the video anyways, this would of definitely fixed my TV.

Im having a similar problem with my Samsung JS9000. The spots are on the middle left and right corner of the screen. Right on the edge of both sides. Do you recommend that i open the tv and check the reflectors?

He thinks we broke it because we watch/play videogames too much, insert a flash drive to watch movies, don't return the input back from HDMI2 to HDMI1, any normal use to a movie, etc.
