Need to fix a broken piece of bisque ware? Use AMACO Bisque Fix to bond pieces together or fill up broken cavities!
This white paste is an excellent mending material for bisque. Bisque Fix can be colored to match the bisque using metal oxides or ceramic stains. After applying with a spatula, fire to the temperature of the clay and glaze that you are using -- up to Cone 10 (2381°F, 1305°C).
Important Storage Note:
Bisque fix is and air set concrete type product. There is a way to keep it longer. After you have used it and are ready to put it away, put a thin layer of water in the jar then recap and store. When you go to use it again pour off the water, remix and apply as normal

Thank you for finally doing a bisque fix video. It’s seems that most people who work with ceramics make fun of these types of products and look down on others who use them which is absurd. It’s wonderful to have something that gives you a chance to save a piece you’ve spent a lot of time on.

I appreciate the work that goes into making a good instructional video, but this could’ve been better. Get the shot framed so we can see what you’re doing (set up a reference monitor or even use tape on the work table that is just outside the frame), set the focus to manual so the camera isn’t constantly wandering in and out of focus, and tighten it up with some editing or even maybe a script. No way did the posted video need to be 20 minutes long to demo bisque fix. 4-5 minutes, tops. (I know it was a live video, but maybe redo it for RU-vid and post that instead.) Anyway, love your products and can’t wait to try bisque fix on a piece that popped its handle off.

Hi there! We appreciate your tips on this. This video was one of our first live videos where we were still learning our set up. We have improved it to not focus in and out and the instructor now has a special monitor where she can cut to different shots while filming her live videos. The reason we don't cut it down to 4-5 minutes is because she is providing tips and tricks through out the video. But your tip has given our video editor ideas on how to make these videos even better in the future. Thanks :)

@@AMACOBrent thanks for the reply! Glad to hear the team has been making good progress with the recent videos. As far as my experience went with Bisque Fix, I was able to reattach the handle that’d popped off. After it dried overnight, I sanded the area smooth, glazed the piece, and fired it to cone 6. The results are flawless! You’d never guess there was a repair made. The seam is totally invisible under the glaze. Very happy with this product. When I was finished, I took the container and used a spray bottle to mist a layer of water onto the surface of the liquid Bisque Fix so it doesn’t go bad (there’s quite a bit left as my repair didn’t need much). Hopefully the next time I need to make a repair it’ll still be good!

Please consider redoing this. The majority of the pot was filmed off screen and the horse went n and out of focus so much that I stopped watching.

When using the product to repair a crack on a bisqued piece, do I make a paste with dried and ground clay, or with ground bisque of the same type of clay? Thanks, Glenda

If you glaze over bisque fix and glaze then firer will it be food safe. Or should you use bisque fix on bisque then firer, then glaze

I poured a Christmas tree and ended up with a crack near one of the holes I punched for the bulb. Can I use this fix to mend this crack. This is on ceramic clay that has been fired to 04. Will it show up when I glaze the tree green as a white spot? It is a translucent green glaze. Thank you for your help

Hi, does the bisque fix stick to the kiln shelf?

You need to stay in the camera frame. Also use a darker background if you're using white colors.

When bisque fix is applied on bisque ware do we bisque fire it once again and then glaze it and do the final firing ??
@AMACOBrent
@AMACOBrent 2 года назад
Bisque Fix can be fired before glazing or glaze can be applied directly on the Bisque Fix and fired

My new bisque fix ( with foil on) had a chunk of bisque fix about 2 cm thick on top. Do I need to take this out and miss out on that material? Also, will this flux and stick to the shelf if it gets on the bottom of a vessel? ( cone 6)

Is it bone dry clay you are crushing and adding? I might have missed you saying what clay powder you were using.

Is there any way to revive a solidified bottle of Bisque Fix? I have two, one of which is unopened, that are hard as rocks.... gigantic waste of money if it's not possible :(
@AMACOBrent

Sadly, there is not a way to bring back hardened Bisque-Fix, and it can harden if exposed to air. In the future, we recommend pouring a small amount of water on top of the Bisque-Fix (not stirring it into the product) after using, and closing the jar tightly. When using again, pour off the water and reserve it, placing back on top of the Bisque-Fix before closing. The water helps keep the Bisque-Fix from coming in contact with air and hardening. Contact our Tech Support team for more information. You can email them at customercare@amaco.com

Just as everyone else said, it would be good if all the work she was doing was on camera so we could actually see what she is doing. Can you please redo this instructional video? It would be much appreciated.
