Hello RU-vid! In this video, we will show you how to fix your camera (integrated camera or dedicated camera) if it is not recognized by your laptop or computer, or if it is not working properly on your PC. This fix is meant as an easy and quick way to get your camera running again but if this doesn't work, the recommendation is to first restart your PC after all the solutions and fixes, and then try reinstalling windows. Meant for all current Windows versions: XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and of course Windows 10.

YES!!!!! I spent FOUR HOURS trying EVERYTHING mentioned here and on other channels. F8 didn't work either, but I got the idea to search for other buttons. And viola, there's a dedicated camera button over on the end near the power button. Mental breakdown definitely covers it!! NOW I can film the presentation I could have finished five hours ago! You just cannot imagine how much you have helped my with this video. I have an important Zoom meeting in a few hours and the camera was not working. I followed all the procedures that you described, updated the driver and so on, at the end of the video you mentioned the fn+ F8 procedure and Bingo! The camera started to work! @@H3_N_Cl I tried everything and nothing worked untill i pushed the F8 key button the grey camera with the sign upon disapeared. Yet i still couldn't see myself. It had a black screen untill i saw the button above my integrated lense that i could move left/right. When i moved it, i finally could see myself again. This is so stupid but i do think there will be more people having this problem as i really didn't see the small button at first and i'm not used to it that a laptop lense can be covered.

My daughter was typing on her laptop like a mad man and accidentally disabled the camera. Thanks to this solution it has fixed the problem. On my case it was Ctrl+F10, there are icons on the keys so you'd know. Thanks again softbay🙏

guys if it still doesnt work, it could be because the lenovo vantage is blocking it, open lenovo vantage and scroll down for a bit, you can turn on the camera on quick settings

@@damunaik4 then it must be f9, f10 or any other f keys on the laptop... Simply look for the 'no camera' / 📷 icon on all the f keys... And then when you find it on any of the f key, just gently press that key once. And then go to the camera setting and viola!!! The camera will starting functioning. Enjoy.

@@nexuhs2766 if you look at you f8 button there is a camera symbol with / on it.. If you accidentally press that button then just press the button again..

Same here! and I had tried all the driver/uninstall/reboot fixes, and all I needed to do was press f8

I had this issue and the guy at Microsoft found a newer driver on a Microsoft Update Catalog page (normal Windows update function did not found any newer driver). After updating this driver the F8 key was enabled and now I could toggle the camera on

my classes is on going and i cannot access my camera, haha i cannot focus i tried almost everything and here i saw the comments the legendary f8 lol thanks guys haha

Oh man thank you! You and I have the same laptop model, and it's a shame to admit that the dumb reason my camera is disabled is because of the keyboard control we both have! I was already losing hope when the first two options didn't work. Thanks man!
