@@kyledupont7711 Hall effect literally cannot drift. Stickdrift is caused by the potentiometer in the joystick wearing down over time and giving stray resistance readings. Hall effect joysticks usemagnatism not potentiometers so thry can't drift. This video isn't fixing an issue at all.

@@kyledupont7711 You use a dead zone. The mega adv of hall effect is that it is so precise with no wear that almost all of them have options to "reset" the default position of the stick

The only thing to get is that the parts are cheap and they wear out. It’s not just dust or dirt. Also, you should know that Xbox has a 90 day warranty on their controllers, which should tell you how much they believe in their product.

It is because of a sensor called potentiometer in case you want to know more about it. It will inevitably wear down after a while of use. They are used in triggers and joysticks.

It helped! Another thing that can help is playing a different type of game. The drift is somewhat caused by always holding the same direction. Play a game that requires more of the other direction. In theory taping the stick the opposite direction of the drift over night could help the spring even out as well I have not tried that

It actually worked for me too. I was dumb enough to think that the Series X I bought in July would still be under warranty, silly me. Less than 6 months after purchase and the controller is out of warranty, thank God I still had my One X and could use it's controller until I find a viable solution. I'm absolutely f*cking livid about having to eventually pay $60 more on top of the $570 I spent in July to replace a less than 6 month old controller...

Unfortunately, didn't work for my Xbox Series X controller. I have the classic left stick drifting up, this will be the 3rd time I'll have to replace it under warranty. For those buying these controllers in the future, I highly recommend you get the extended warranty plan from either a store like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Costco, etc... I think Target for example is like $6 for two years of warranty, I use Best Buy which is more expensive but beats paying $60+ every time these things break.

Genuinely worked for about a minute, but then it encountered an issue I've never seen before. All buttons besides the home, triggers, and sticks died; there's no response from any of them. The controller also keeps disconnecting from my Xbox and every ~20 seconds it searches for a source. Other than that though, the tutorial doesn't lie.

I have one more tips to fix a drifting analog first go to chrome and search up controller vibration test after that you want to look for the one that says "code pen chrome controller vibrate" and turn the intensity to max and leave it for a couple minutes

If you can figure out how to fix it with the Meta Quest 2 controller stick drift that would be tight. If its possible. Because it happens to all controllers after about 400 hours of use. And replacements cost a lot of money. Removing the top plate and stick and spraying it with contact cleaner or alcohol makes it go away only for a few hours.
