Thank you so much for the video! I bought a brand new makeup brush set (online)- one for myself and one for my friend, and one of the brushes have this same problem. The bristles got split in the traveling case it came in. And the split actually runs down to the shaft of the brush. I am going to try this technique to help restore its original shape.

I remembered this video when my new brush arrived completely splayed! Worked like magic! Thank you!

does this work for synthetic brushes? or only natural?

This worked well for my Morphe Jeffery Star JS2 brush which is synthetic BTW

does this work for a synthetic gel brush?

I guess this doesnt work with all brushes as it actually made mine worse

i seriously need new, not chinese brushes. This literally promises acrylic, oil, and watercolors yet it cant even handle watercolors! Smhh Sadly it doesnt look like its working but hoping for the best! my younger cousin keeps ruining my brushes oof
