Thank you Phifer for this helpful video. The use of the convex roller without spline to press the screen into the groove is a great help. I would add: check the groove size and use correct size spline, which may be larger than the .125-.140 recommended on the package I bought. The video actually shows .160 spline, and I'm not sure why spline size is not discussed--I replaced insect screen that used .175 spline, and had to use .160 in my aluminum screen porch door after first using .125 that turned out to be inadequate. Fortunately, I discovered this before cutting off excess screen. That leads to another recommendation--don't cut off the excess screen until you are sure what you used will do the job--I waited 2 days to discover the .125 allowed the screen to loosen. Even .14 was inadequate, as the screen came out too easily. I would add that a very sharp blade in the utility knife is essential.
I'm heading out to Home Depot right now to pick up the tool and spine I think it is cold. I have a screen that will work. I still have many feet left of what a fellow used for me. This is wonderful. Thank you so much for it you have no idea. Truly.
Joy! Thank you. Both of my screen doors are a disaster. I actually taped a bankers box to the bottom one to keep the cats from getting out. But the rest of my screen porch is done in paw Printz I still have more of the war so I am going to do this and I thank you so stinking much you have no idea how much I appreciate this. I have a 12lbs Tom that claws away at the screen to come in. He has completely shredded the old screen. Will this be strong enough to prevent that kind of damage?
I bought a big roll of pet proof screening when I had Fl come out to restrain my porch. The stuff works. The cat starts to go up on it you just zap them with a little bit of water from your bozo blaster, also known as just a basic spray thing. And they're happy and you're happy
VERY good instructional-video by a person who DIDN'T rush, and who took her time with valuable explanations. As a fellow-Southerner it was so refreshing to listen to a cute Southern-Belle too. ps: RE: @ 1:51 - I wonder if this young lady happened to notice some pervert filming down the front of her shirt?? Lol....
