Awesome, thank you for the walk through. I was ready to leave the whole drone where it sat when the fly app crashed on both my devices. I've had my P3A for 6 years and still Flys great, but every time I take it out now it's another battle.

I have only had experience with DJI drones, so I can only speak on those. Probably I would try to look for a used Mini 2. Because other than that there is only the Mini 2 SE. It also depends on what you need the drone for. Mini 2 would be a better option comparing to Mini 2 SE, but it is a question if you can find it within the budget.
Not working. Using samsung galaxy tab (Ive used this tablet all the time, stopped flying for about 6 months and now it no longer works) and the app starts fine the problem is it cannot see the connection to the controller - I own several USB cables and the ones Ive used in the past all stopped working suddenly, its as though there's no communication protocol for the cable any longer and it only wants to charge the controller now. Already went through the whole reinstallation process and gave the app full permissions to everything - no luck :( Im about ready top sell this drone Im so fed up with its inconsistent reliability. Mavic Air 2 btw

Took a while to find an APK app that worked, the one you cited doesnt appear to be on the Play store, nevertheless found one and got the Fly app back. Appreciate your detailed explanation. I suspect this is a result of the US/China embargo on Chinese tech and why the latest Fly app is not on Play store. Are iOS users experiencing the same issue with the latest Fly update?
Happy to hear that everything worked out for you in the end. The problems with the Fly app has been an issue for a really long time now. I recorded this video almost one year ago, but it is great that this video can still be helpful for fellow drone pilots.
@@MikusAusters Also goes to show how long its been since I flew :( Worked fine with my Huawei P30 Pro, once a new device entered the chat, game over. Keep up the good work.
@Chayton Nidd APK Installer by UPTODOWN its a blue icon with the android head and downward triangle. I tried 4 different installers and that's the only one that worked. Good luck!
Sveiks! Pirms kāda mēnēša pateicoties tavam video izdevās palaist aplikāciju, bet kādas 2 nedēļas atpakaļ atkal nestrādā. Vairākas reizes esmu izdzēsis aplikāciju un mēģinājis instalēt pa jaunam, bet tāpat nekas nestrādā. Man ir Mavic 2 zoom. Varbūt ir kādi ieteikumi?
@@MikusAusters i have samsung m13 . i foud out your phone has to be 64 bit, mine is 32 bit. i bought it today and after like two hours of struggling i found out it works on my mom old phone but not on mine. i will just send it back and get money back, im disapointed haha
Ok.. I just subscribed and followed.. this better work lol.. But really, why wouldn't DJI make it easier for us, the paying $$ customer.. ok. I will try that DK download as I did see it when I've been trying this process for days now.. I have missed action drone and plenty of footage because of this issue.. STAY TUNED.. I will try now
I've just purchased a DJi Neo today. It's going back tomorrow for a refund. I've spend hours trying to get it working this evening. All the excitement of my first drone is now gone. I just want my money back.
I even tried this and still can't download any DJI APP to my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. So I just sold my AIR 2S yesterday LoL 😆 I not getting another Dji drone until they make it compatible with the new Samsung phones
Thanks for video, writing this in September 2024, tried what you describe on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, but still get a privacy message and "install anyway" and push yes, but install fails every time. Bought the DJI Neo yesterday and just dismayed that in all the promo and commercials it says nowhere that it won't work with a Android device :/ Thanks for the info though! At least I tried (101 times) returning this to the store...
Great! but now the app is stuck on a before you fly screen. I have allowed location, restarted, redownloaded, and minimized font size but still can't get it to work/ let me out of this spot
Mine still will not work. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times and the app opens but is greyed out and will not let me select anything. DJI help desk says that the app has not been tested on the Tab8 therefor they can not help.....
Some say this solution still works, even though I uploaded this video in May 2022. And back then it definitely was working, because that is exactly how I got it to work. Haven't had any problems since.
Thanks for this. Was struggling for hours with my new Samsung A53 and your solution worked perfectly. Had downloaded DJI Fly multiple times from Google Play but could not activate the drone. Use of the APK installer and the app download from the DJI site as per your guidance fixed the issue in minutes.🙂
How is your samsung a53 doing with your drone do you have any screen problems and are you using the mini drones i was thinking of getting the samsung a54 but not sure if it will work Thanks
It is more an android thing then particular Samsung model isue and should work just fine. Are you completely sure that you went through every step correctly?
On my Samsung S22 Ultra, the versions 1.5.8 and 1.5.10 work. 1.6.1 and 1.6.4 don't work, because there is no live Video from the camera on the phones screen any more. Only the fligh control data, but the middle field stays black. Sometimes after 5 minutes you might get life feed in 4x3 photo mode, but with a vertical green bar on the right side of the picture. Switching to video mode 16x9, the screen goes black again, even when switching back to photo 4x3, live picture doesn't come back. Problem reportet to DJI R&D. Got an answer, that they are working on a solution. Only way to fly again, is to delete the app, download the version 1.5.10 apk file and use your file manager to run it. No need to install this google apk manager. That's total bullshit. File manager does the same trick. Just klick downloaded APK files and choose the right one. Downside of downgrading is, that by deleting a 1.6.x version from your phone, you also delete your app album of pictures and videos. If you have sync with you phone album before, the pics are still there and you can access them over the gallery, but not with the dji album function.😡
@@ExHanseat Ohh wow... This sounds so bad. I am still using the 1.5.10 version that I mentioned in this video. And from the looks of it, I will for a while. Hopefully DJI will get this stuff sorted out soon, because this is totally not cool.
I haven't used the DJI Fly app on the Galaxy a54 personally, but I did find that the Galaxy a54 is listed in the compatibility list. So in theory it should work, at least according to DJI.
Did you get it working on the S22? I am thinking of buying the S23 but I am a bit afraid as it is also not listed as compatible (but it is also not listed as incompatible)
I always bougt the cheap obscure brands and always thought that was the cause for the troubles I had. It turns out now I have brands i only have more problems.
Here is the thing, I just got a DJI device, and suggestion is to go to DJI website, however all websites related to this are blocked by Browsers in theninternet. So How I supposed to download the DJI package in order to go to APK as suggested?.... help pls
I am planning on buying samsung s23 ultra. Will I still have to do what you have described in this video? I have read stories about samsung showing a blocked image instead of what the gimball is showing. But I wouldnot likethe situation where I can no longer fly the drone with myphone as the dji fly app is mainly developed for iphone
Thank you, this worked I don't know how but it did. I wish I would have seen this sooner, instead I bought a tablet just to run this app. Now I can run it on my phone. THANKS AGAIN
Thank you very much!! I had to return DJI Mini2 because I couldn`t download official DJI Fly app on my (Samsung S21) which is not supported by DJI according to the website.I tried your steps and i was able to download the app on my Samsung S21 Thanks again!!I`m going to reorder DJI drone on Amazon again, hoping i wont have an issues.
Samsung S22 Ultra owner here. Just got off the phone with DJI support and they STILL say the S22 is in the R&D stages with the Fly app. STILL, in Feb of 2022, with the phone being over a year old now, and the S23 about to be released! That said, I removed whatever version of the APK/app I had (originally downloaded on my Note 9, so it probably was an older version), cleared my cache, went to the website via my S22 Ultra phone, downloaded and installed the current APK/DJI Fly app, and it seems to open & run with no crashes or error messages so far. I kept my Note 9 (not activated with a carrier at this point) just in case. Not yet willing to shell out over $1000 USD for a smart controller.

I have the DJI Mini 2 drone. works great, had a Galaxy Note 8 and never any problems, but recently bought the Galaxy A53 5 G phone. while flying I have no problems until I start recording during flight. The screen on phone stops moving, like a screen shot, then when I stop recording it goes back to normal. i recently updated the newest version and still doing the same thing. i got a hold of customer support and they told me that they haven't updated the software with a phone that new yet. How dow the newest IPhone owners fly without problems? Any help or suggestions would help greatly. Thanks
@@MikusAusters yeah, I had activated all the permissions, fortunately the next morning, after numerous tests from the link I was able to redeem the app, which unexpectedly did not give me an error ..... ah and the link was the same😂
Have my mavic 2 coming soon, just wanted to point out that you probably dont need an APK installation app at all. Most samsung galaxy devices will auto-skip to the prompt asking you if you wish to install unknown certificates from this source. Just tap yes and boom.
