Thank you so much! ❤ I’ve been having trouble with getting the TV sound to play when my laptop is connected. I came across this video after researching for the last three days. I went to sound & my TV is connected & I can see the volume detector bar moving up & down, but still NO sound. I even did a test & nothing. However if I switch to my laptop, all is good. I’m going to try the plug-in sequence you provided.

This helped. I couldn’t find the tv on my control panel but for me I had to plug in my hdmi to the tv again switch off and on for it to show up!!

In my case I had to disable my computer's internal speakers (in Control Panel) in order for my TV speakers to take over.

Also if it doesnt work when double clicking the tv right click and make default.

1. Go to search Cortana and type "SOUND" 2. SOUND option should show up so click it. 3. Click the one with the green check mark and go to the bottom where it says "Device Usage" 4. Click on the down arrow and choose "Dont use this device (Disable)" 5. Now go back and choose "Speakers/Headphones" 6. Do the exact same like the other one but choose "Use this device (enable) 7. Enjoy the sound.

You may not need new Drivers at all! You may just need to PRIORITIZE your Audio output stream in the proper SEQUENCE. If you're experiencing this problem in Premiere Pro outputting to an external monitor or big screen TV you use as a work surface, here's the fix. Connect your TV to your Laptop HDMI, before you start Premiere Pro so that Premiere's Audio output routines can sense/initialize the Audio crossover to the HDMI Audio output interface driver. Wallah! (And believe me, much of this is a guess, but I do know each program has to get its hooks into the Audio driver's output queue during application startup). I know this sounds like something from the bad old days of Windows-3, because it does. Not all application play nice-nice with one another. Plug and Play was supposed to take care of all this, but life is not perfect. Anyway, I figured this out by running a test video in Media Player Classic. MPC had no problem outputting audio to the External monitor through the HDMI connection if MPC was started AFTER the HDMI connection was made. If I had the HDMI disconnected, started the video, then connected the HDMI mid-stream - no Audio output. Shut off the MPC application, disconnect the HDMI then RECONNECT the HDMI and then launch a video in MPC Classic and the Audio streamed just fine. So I shut of Premiere redid the HDMI cable and restarted Premiere - worked fine. This may not work for everybody, but it did for me.
