Many iPhone 6 problems are caused by damage to the front facing camera flex cable. This video demonstrated how to replace the component. Replacement part ebay.to/2ziVirw (affiliate)
Thank you for putting an excellent instructional video, well explained, and identification of all parts. Most of the video on youtube do not have instructional video as clear as yours. I gave you a thumbs up. Thank you again.
thanks for the video, replaced the cable and iPhone works perfectly now. i replaced the battery as well and the phone is practically brand new, very fast now.
My wife's IP6+ was getting hot by camera and I wasn't getting sound thru the earpiece. This fixed it and had lots of good advise. Thank You for the vid!
I'm deeply grateful for your video, one the best, clearest and detailed I'v seen! Thanks to your video I have been able to fix my phone myself! Grateful!
god thanks so much, i couldnt get a schematic for which part was the receiver mic, youre the only one that covered it. I had issues with hey siri not working adter i replaced the screen. thought i damaged the cable during removal so picked up a new facetime assembly. then the same issue with that one. but tested it with the assembly out of the phone and it worked. so knew something was just in the way of the mic, but i couldnt see for sure which part wass the microphone :D thanks a million, great vid!!!
best tutorial ever! All details, tips high quality and nice speech and important no music on background is very important to focus on the work ... Thank you!
Thanks for the video. My question is: if a iphone 6 plus had a working back camera (main camera) and a non working front (selfie) camera but was then opened up and the ribbon cable (attached to the screen) next to the front facing camera broke as it was opened, would the IC U2301 blow? That is, teh ribbon cable with the proximity sensor that you have shown in your video was changed .The symptom is both cameras not working and the LED flashlight not working and even after replacing the ribbon cable that is associated with the small front facing selfie camera. How do I test if the problem is the IC U2301 or a faulty camera?
Hi. After fixing and testing all was ok. When I close the casing, sometimes the flashlight & camera/video works, sometimes both doesn't work at all. Please advise. Thanks.
When replacing the battery. I got so lazy removing this ribbon cable that i snapped it after my 4th battery replacement.. then the 3 components (speaker, front camera and sensor got gg-ed) ... But watching this video made me confident in changing it.. It looks easy. I'll be ordering my new parts.. wish me luck.
Hey so I cracked my phone and got it fixed at the store when I turned it on I couldn’t use the front camera even when I face timed it wouldn’t show up on the other persons phone and I tried Snapchat and it won’t show help!😫
I ordered an ear speaker for my iPhone 6. The sound quality was bad and the volume low. Probably came broken but is there a chance that the real problem is the connector of the ear speaker and not the ear speaker?
If my phone is getting really hot at the top right is it due to the same problem, my screen goes black but still the back light is on, if I press the sleep button I hear it lock and when I press it again the phone turns on and I have a short time till it happens again
Possibly. You can try disconnecting the camera flex cable and then power on the phone. If it doesn't heat up that way then you probably should replace the component.
Is it safe to say if I changed proximity sensor that didn't work before and now it also doesn't work (front camera, speaker do work like they did before) that something else is wrong with the board? Like resistors around connection of it?
Possible but unlikely in my opinion. proximity sensors require precision to function properly and in most cases it is improper alignment, insufficient separation between the two "eyes" or discoloration of the phones glass that throws it off. It's hard to explain but you might want to try using the sensor before it is fully installed. This requires plugging it in and making a call or voice memo, etc. and then cover the sensor with your hand and see what happens. You have to be careful not to tear anything in the process so do this at your own risk of course but that's how I would confirm whether or not it is functional. I rarely come across a bad one and have yet to see a board that interferes with proximity operation.
hello i wanted to ask , iv put everything back together just plugging in the 4 end flex cables and the screen flex is getting so hot ,, nothing is charging etc ,, getting hot on its own ;; is this normale? it almost burnt my finger , plus screen isnt working now ,, it was all working well after a battery and lcd and screen change ,, all apart from microphone and speaker ,,, opened it up again to sort that problem now this has happened ?? any advice would be great ,, thanks
That is not normal. Excessive heat is often an indication that there is an electrical short present. You may have a defective part or something was damaged during the repair. Take a close look at the connectors using some sort of magnification. If any the pins in the phone or the display are bent they will cause problems. Hard to know for sure what the cause is but that's where I'd start.
Hey quick question I had to clean the speaker from the inside from dust and paint and I did everything you did but now my proximity sensor is not working everything else works fine except that would you what the problem would be. Thanks
The earpiece speaker or the loudspeaker at the bottom? It could be that the prox is out of alignment if you had to move it in the process but if not the cable could be damaged. Although I have one right now that's got neither loudspeaker nor proximity function which is an odd combination of problems to have. If I find something that relates the two I'll update you here.
Hello, I took my cell phone to a place where they repaired cell phones, to replace the screen, when they gave it to me, they told me that the front camera didn’t work and they said that they had to replace it, a few days later I went to replace it and they told me that the camera didn’t work again and they told me that Maybe I had to do the update and I did it and it doesn’t work. What do you think could have happened? I'm going back to get an explanation and ask them to fix it.
Do you mean the plastic ring or the rubber piece on the side. Without the plastic your camera will not stay centered and over time it will accumulate dust. The rubber insert that sits next to it mainly acts as a cover for your notification led. Probably not such a big deal as far as I can tell.
Similar but a slightly different design and the part is not interchangeable from an iPhone 6 to a 6S. Make sure you get one for the phone that you have.
Hello. I have a question. I was trying to work inside the phone, and when I put it back together, I tried turning it on and it gets very warm in the area you connect the screen to the board, where all the ribbon cables are. the phone DOES NOT turn on, and when I try and turn it on it just gets warm in the upper right corner, and the earpeice next to the camera. PLEASE REPLY I AM DESPERATE
Excessive heat is a bad sign and often indicative of an electrical short. It's impossible to guess what happened but wherever you were working is where I would start looking for damage. Disconnect the battery and charger until you determine what the problem may be. The heat can cause damage to other components that might currently be unaffected. If you were replacing the front camera you might try turning the phone on briefly with it disconnected and pay close attention to see if it starts generating heat again. If that alleviates the problem your trouble might be coming from the replacement part.
I am using iphone 6s plus. Everything is ok except fb messenger or whats app video call. When I want to talk with loudspeaker mode in messenger or any apps then my voice is unreacheable to others. If i use my earphone then its ok. Just in loudspeaker mode in messenger is problem. What can I do?
I have an iPhone 6 and when I wave my finger or something moves in front of the front facing camera, my phone goes black then goes back to normal every time
Usually debris in side of the lens will cause this. Even a small piece of dust or lint makes the camera confused about where to focus. Most likely that or a defective camera. I clean the outside of lens first just in case it’s something simple.
