You may need to adjust your boot priority in BIOS. The HDD may not be set to the first place if the computer was trying to boot off of a USB connected device.

For new Lenovo laptop bios. Check if after bios update the Intel VMD Controller is not set to: Enabled. It may cause problems with detecting your hard drive. Set it to Disabled, And check if Sata controller mode is set to AHCI.

When I try to change it to AHCI is gives a warning that says: all existing data stored on the drivers will be erase when resetting controller mode, does that mean that all my data and files will be deleted?

Great video...!!! I watched several of your videos and nothing worked. Kept getting an HD error. I took my laptop computer apart and all seven of the eight screws were loose, hence the HD became dislodged. I took the opportunity to clean the fan. Then took a picture of the RAM and HD and then tightened all screws. Success👍🏿.

@@yahiaxammar8707 A patch for that should have already been out. If your updates were set to automatic, your computer should have already installed it. Either way, installing Windows again new will include that updated driver list.

@@cocoacherios If BIOS is not retaining the correct settings, it could be a sign that your CMOS battery on the motherboard is dead. That is the component that is supposed to keep power to BIOS even when the computer is off. If its dead, your BIOS settings may be resetting when the computer turns off. I would replace it. @@PC_Monkey my Lenovo Y540 wouldn't reset to factory settings so I created a recovery disk on a USB...somewhere in the process the entire system got corrupted and it wouldn't boot. Seeing the log in screen after following your advice was such a weight off.

My Yoga 740 wont do anything .firstly I can't get it to install anything from Microsoft it must have stopped about a year ago, so i remove the NVME drive format it and install the cloned copy i have on another NVMe , then UEFI (which is very basic) keeps wanting to boot to the cloned drive which was plugged into the USB but is now installed as the operating sytem, and, i can't see anything that will allow me to remove that reference to the external drive ,even when i change the boot sequence the next time it tries to boot the reference to the external drive goes back to the top of the boot order and I have to go into the UEFI and change it save it and repeat repeat repeat ...any ideas ?

No. Changing the mode you boot in does not affect the DATA on the HDD

OH nvm if its lenovo ideapad 320s just disconnect the mouse wire or mouse pendrive and the. restart it and BOOM done

So switching it to Legacy mode worked for me but does that mean that I can't boot into Windows 10 in uefi mode without pre-installing the operating system.

Not using a Lenovo, trying to fix a Dell Inspiron, I can't find the option to change from UEFI to Legacy, it only gives me an option to get CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive and Netwok. I only have a main, advance, security, and boot. I don't have as many options as you do

Hi, I have just purchased a Lenovo laptop and I am getting this message. None of the Function buttons allow me to access Bios. Only F10 button brings me to the "Diagnostics UEFI" page.. Where I don't see an option to change time or to access Windows.

I have a big problem with my laptop. He is blinking a few times with a white screen, then he is shuting down and shows me a blue screen for 2 seconds where it says "your PC ran in to a problem and needs to restart" and then it come the boot device missing. Please help🙏🏻

Does your Lenovo have diagnostic test ability as seen there? Are you able to try any Repair or Recovery options in BIOS?

Hi, I was trying to fix our family laptop, I followed it to a T, but after I switched to Legacy from UEFI, it goes to a black screen and on the upper left corner saying "Checking media [Fail]" then after a bit it made me go to this boot menu with just one option, and then it just says "EFI Network 0 for IPv6 (FC-45-96-4C-7C-81) boot failed." Please help, my sisters uses it for school **EDIT: So I went into the Insyhde Setup Utility again, and copied some of your settings to see if it would work. It did, but it still goes to this light blue screen, where it gives me the option to troubleshoot or restart. I tried restarting cause it said it goes back to Windows 10, and now it's on black screen. Help asap please 😭 **EDIT 2: it went back to no bootable device 😭😭

I unplugged my mouse, my date and time were correct, and then when I go to Boot I see USB boot (option to enable or disable), USB to LAN Device PXE Boot (enable or disable) and then EFI (no options for this at all…?) and then nothing else. Please help me! Also in the Information tab of Bios settings it says Hard Disk not detected…

How do you change UEFI when the HDD falls under UEFI HII Configuration with Intel Rapid Storage Technology? The time and date are correct, everything is okay, the operating system works when I install the HDD in another laptop it boots just fine. But when I install into the original pc it says no bootable device.
