Had the same issue. I did the same fix with a spacer for the passenger. The adhesive didn't stay well in hot weather so it ended up jamming inside. I was so frustrated that I did the "rigorous open and close" method and it fixed itself. Did the method to the driver side and it worked too. Congrats on the new home btw!

I found this video because my driver side visor is loose (ironically after my last service at the dealership). I promise I thought they did something so that I could go and spend more money. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but I spent $96 for them to “fix” a screw that was loose in my console lid. How could that possibly become loose?! I cannot even access it without a pry tool! The fix for me will probably be to just to screw in the visor again, under the piece that you popped off. I validated this by simply pushing it in with my mirror slide open, and the light comes on again. To be honest, I did not notice that the light was not working until I saw your video. Thanks!!!

Thought the bulbs on my 07 ES350 was dead. But didn't look blown. Hooked them up to my bench PSU and they lit up. Thanks for the video, will try when I get the chance.

I did this and it works like a charm! I NOW HAVE LIGHTTT! it felt crazy to actually see it light up after all this time but it’s finally alive!! thanks for your help your awesome

Thanks for the video! I was thinking this whole time it was the bulb and it wasn’t. So I continued watching the video and started to attempt to remove the mirror and just by prying up on the mirror while on the car, the light started to work and I’ve tested it multiple times and it works! Thanks so much!

I’ve been having this issue and I’m so glad someone made this vid! After I got it to work, I actually think it might be my lightbulb. It turns on, but it flickers. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for posting this video as my passenger side wasn’t working and I seen the bulb wasn’t burnt so I replaced them anyway with a LED Bulb and did exactly like your video and it’s working great now…Keep up the great work…

Thanks for sharing this video. After watching this video I thought I can do it in my IS, I followed everything and put eveything back I didn’t think it will work cause I can’t get continuity reading in my tester after installing it back the car it works perfectly 100%.. 😅

Thanks for the insight. When you said it might just be a contact i tried moving my mirror cover back and forth rapidly a few times. The bulb flickered a few times so i knew it wasnt a blown lamp. Seems to have cleared the oxidation and working now

Great video. Both visors on my IS F are dead. I was not excited at all about buying new or junkyard visors, so this is a real lifesaver. Going to pop them off and get fixed right now.

MAYDAY MAYDAY, EXCELLENT VIDEO!!! I tried the coat hanger trick and may have inadvertently moved part of the pin switch that I didn't want to. do you know where I can find a diagram of the function of the switch. maybe like a top view. I can fix what I did but I don't want to ruin the visor all together. I can send pictures if needed. Thanks in advance!

had the same problem but just by taking the mirror out and putting it in fixed it just has a springing sound when i close the sliding part

my 2007 ES350 is so dark at night in the car. can I put higher wattage for the visor bulbs? Or any other ideas for improved interior lighting? Thanks in advance

I replaced all my bulbs to LED bulbs and all my interior lights and puddle lights stopped working. I changed out the fuse in the engine compartment and nothing. I tested the new fuse and there’s no power running to that fuse. Any idea how to fix that or what the issue could be?
