Fixing mistakes in a linocut can be tricky. You cannot go back and reverse the cuts that you have made, but there are some other options. In this tutorial I will show you one way of repairing mistakes on lino by replacing the miscut area with a new piece of lino.
PS. You can watch the making of this print from start to finish here: • "Lush" - Linocut Print...

Thank you so much for this tutorial, I was panicking realizing I'd used a wrong letter in a print and was agonizing over having to do it again. This video made new connections in my brain!

I love putting the fabric patch on the back. But here's a hint: Of course you have to cut on curves to follow the design in the left, but on the right where it's negative space or background, make your cuts straight. Straight lines are easier to duplicate than curves. ❤🌅🌵

This is so genius! Thanks for sharing! If anyone’s using speedy carve or similar easy cut blocks, I did this same technique with shoe goo (or another rubber adhesive might work) and it’s holding up great!

Hey, did you make your strop yourself or where did you get it? I think that's what it's called, the leather tool you use to sharpen your carving tools, but I might be wrong.

I have made light skip on what is supposed to be a black space. When I take a pencil and rub it across the area lightly you can see the skip. Do I have to start over?
@MaaritHanninen
@MaaritHanninen Год назад
I would ink it first and see if it shows on the print. Sometimes it's enough if you push some ink into the cut with a brush, especially if it's not very deep. Or if it shows on the print, you could try carefully painting over it with a small brush on the print itself. Just make sure to blot it with newsprint afterwards to remove any excess ink. Or you could try fixing it with milliput instagram.com/reel/CkGbLokIc0x/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
