Honda and acura have a security button in the glove box to turn off the life gate. Sometimes we forget to switch it back on and the back button will not open the lift gate. To fix the not working lift gate is just to turn on the button in the glove box.

Yessss!!! I locked my trunk release and I left my keys in the trunk. SUPER UNFORTUNATE!! until I saw that part. As soon as I flipped that switch on and went to my trunk she opened right up!!

This was VERY helpful, thank you! Now, my next question is why is this even a feature? What is the intended purpose of using this button? The only thing I can think of is what if your kids get ahold of your keys and just start smashing buttons and accidentally open the trunk but is that really what this was meant for?

This was exactly what I needed. On the 2002 Acura RL, the button is on the front left corner, making it easy to hit while using the glove box.

Open the trunk and use your key fob to check if the motor of the trunk release work. If it works, you should hear sound from the motor. If you don't hear anything, the motor of the trunk release needs to be replaced

Thanks, i did my trunk makes like a noise like it wants to open but it doesnt, its like the lock is stuck idk, and the acura tsx doesnt have the thing to get to the trunk from the chairs

@@toonchi3357 use the level that open the gas tank lid to pop the trunk. You may want to find out why it stuck.
