Hi, I'm Steve, nonda's lead mechanic engineer. Feel free to leave your comments here if you have any mechanic questions, I will be glad to help you out!
Hello. I got this erro p0401 code on my golf 5 1.9 tdi 77kw and my mechanics cleaned egr valve, and it did not fix it,so I changed it for a different one(used, not new) and it disappeared for 3-4 days and the light is back on again, what should I do?
I removed my egr cleaned manifold still runs like crap I put a vacuum pump on egr and it kills engine, I believe this means it's working.cirrect me if I'm wrong. Could it be that egr sensor
EGR pressure sensor or DPFE sensor. Clean EGR valve or replace it. EGR cooler being dirty can also cause this code. Check hoses and anything else that can have blockage. If you have an air leak somewhere it can also cause this code.
Yeah I'm sorry but you don't go right from EGR valve to pulling off the intake manifold. There are many other factors for this code and pulling off the intake manifold is not going to fix it.
You forgot one important part at the beginning where you cleaned the EGR valve but you did not check to see if it was blocked where it bolts onto the manifold and that is a very common problem.
Vw golf plus 1.9tdi egr valve removed and cleaned. Looks like new, flap works with no obstruction. Replaced and used code tool to delete code. 250 miles later check engine light came back. Scanned and have p0401 error. So next up is intake manifold....
My car (W204 2008 Om642) is indicating the same code I bought a new EGR (just replaced without adaptation) and delete the code but still have the same problem !?! Any solution please
The unnecessary music makes this IMPPOSSIBLE to listen to. While I'm trying to get a solution to my vehicle's issues, I don't need a THUMPING soundtrack that makes it sound like I'm in the club.
