Dude, I know the pain, I wear steel toe workbooks every freaking day. Made my legs so weak, but it takes a nice slow build up. I used a foam roller thing for the bottom of my feet and got new shoe insoles. It takes time but you can over come it. My own run has dropped from a 20 min mile to a 15 min mile. And even now, I walk in a park with wide shoes for 30 mins a day and I've seen crazy improvements.

My PF was coming from a tight hip. Once I loosened my hip, it went away. PF does not always originate in the foot. Try stretching hips, hamstrings, and other places. You might be surprised.

Right! Glute medius, lower back and tight calves usually the cause from what I learned. Fascinating to really see and get to the root cause, not fix symptoms of it.

Absolutely. There are videos showing good stretches for the calves and hips and even lower back which may be the root cause of the PF pain.

All of you are wrong. Studies have shown there is little to no inflammation of these tissues when biopsied. It is a, however, a misalignment of the great toe with the medial arch and calcaneus. Realignment through passive positioning (toe spacers) and stretching, wide toe box/zero drop shoes, and strengthening of the muscles that control the great toe, support the arch/plantar fascia will help. Also, strengthening the hips.

I dealt with PF for years, barefoot(zero drop shoes )works for me. My steps are different not heel heavy without shoes on so I don’t feel like I need cushioning. Plus toes are spread out spreading my weight more evenly over my foot. I went to The Running Experience RU-vid Channel and they talked abt the foot roller with little nubs on it. I bought it from Amazon for $10. I rolled both feet twice a day and counted to 20 on each foot. I was literally healed within abt a week of doing it. I broke up the muscle fascia. I was able to run the marathon in great time for a beginner 5hrs 35muns. And the pain has never ever come back. I kept using the roller daily and especially after my training runs. I did that for another 3-6 months..I've not had to use it again since. I use it only when I feel like it now. 🙏🙏

Dr. Gabe Mirkin, the doc who founded the RICE protocol in 1978, came out in 2015 to retract his original protocol for icing. Icing has been shown to actually inhibit the body’s natural immune response to injury if done for longer than 6 hours post-injury. It constricts blood vessels that otherwise would deliver healing macrophages and red blood cells that help heal. The body’s own natural inflammatory response is hindered by icing. It is still good as a treat for immediate pain relief, but don’t treat longterm. Acute injuries, sure. Chronic injuries, not so much.

I compare PF as the pain you get on your wrists as you do heavier Snatches; it is a combination of weak, tense and stiff wrists. I learned a bunch of stretches that literally in 2 minutes would ease the pain and give me more flexibility. Then with time I build up the strength and flexibility to be able to snatch heavy (200lbs) without any pain. When I got PF I couldn’t understand why, then I remembered my process with snatches. Who are the masters of ankle strength and mobility? Balerinas! So learn from them. Take it slow! But it will definitely help, specially the pointing part, painful but super effective, almost immediately.

1. Plantar fasciitis doesn't just cause heal pain. Causes pain when you first wake up in your ankle/ Achilles area bc when you sleep your toes are pointer bc your relaxed which tighten the fasciitis band. Don't over stretch it will cause micro tares and won't heal and get worse. Light stretch, no prolonged walking and running and get shoes that are better made of out gel inserts in shoes so the hard pressure of the ground don't make it even more worse. I which videos were correct and people did research. Severe magnesium deficiency caused mine which sucks bad and autoimmune diseases made it worse

This advice is incorrect. Walking barefoot is not ideal nor icing.Plantar fasciitis is not inflammation so ice does little to relieve the pain

BF shoes are awful, make mine worse. I use a Suana and IR heating pads for my feat along with foot exercises and calf stretches/foam rolling
