GUYS I HAVE THE FIX IF YOU DROPPED IT !! Turn your controller upside down and tap it a lot of times , press the opposite arrow and blow and then it should start working again !! I think it's some dust or a connector that moved

Sony starting to annoy me they make this new controller make it cost an arm and left with its price and it has nothing but issues. I have two controllers that have strange problems the black controller I have the left stick drifts and sometimes the D pad dosnt work. The white controller randomly makes whatever game I’m playing it makes the game do weird crap like constantly firing a gun or making the character constantly jump up and down it’s so odd. I never had any problems with PS4 or PS3 controllers but of course the most expensive controller has issues I can’t just keep dropping 89 dollars on a new controller because Sony can’t build a reliable controller

hold controller upside down and kinda use thumb and roll the dpad in circular motion with a lil pressure , other trick ive tried is going to home screen press and hold down the ps button then button spam whichever part of the dpad is giving you trouble

The right arrow and bottom arrow on the d pad weren't working for me. I tried the upside down thing and it worked for one hour lol. I opened it up expecting dust or crumbs. It turned out to be the sensors were not aligned. Just had to tighten up the d pad to the sensor and it was good to go. Not hard of a fix for those wondering

I dropped mine and the left button stopped working. I then proceeded to grab both handles and pull away from one another till I heard the plastic creak a little. Wildly enough, my button works again 🤷🏼‍♂️

D-pad up ⬆️ and down ⬇️ stopped working when the battery emptied. Power cycled the console. Deleted controller then USB-C cable synced it. Reset button on back of controller pressed for 5+ seconds while off. Only one mention of low battery in all of the comments so far, so here’s hoping the buttons start working after a hefty charging period.

Update: After fully charging it, the up ⬆️ D-pad button now works but not the down ⬇️ button. Of course PlayStations website doesn’t recognize the QR code I scanned on the back of the controller as a real serial number. Followed all their support tips, their last step was factory reset the console. Did not work. Lovely

Yep because my two controllers are in pretty good shape and now are doing weird things. My black controller now has stick drift but I don’t think it’s actual stick drift because that same controller also has issues with the D pad not working the white controller dose random crap in game where it’ll make my character randomly jump up and down or it will randomly fire a gun none stop I can’t play any shooting games. I’m annoyed right now I know it’s not because of the controllers themselves has to be a botched update.
