Literally the only answer to this question on the entire internet. My problem is every time i open the recliner, it wont close unless i flip it and push that part back down. Stupid cheap furniture.
Omg thank u I spend 2 hours trying to figure why my recliner wasn't locking or folding. I was trying to figure it out so my mom didn't have to rope that recliner.
Thank you for this! What if the issue isn’t that it won’t lock but that it isn’t reaching . I have to lurch forward and slam my legs against footrest in order to make contact with the mechanism. To the point of wrenching my back! Thank you😃
If that's the case, I would suspect the cable is caught on something and sticking. Check how it's routed and see if it's pinched anywhere that would cause you to have to slam it.
@@coffeelover2394 The cable is probably running through the arm of the chair. Wherever the "pull" is to release the footrest there's probably a cable, unless it's a completely different mechanism
Hi! Do you have any insight on an electric LaZ Boy recliner rocker where the footrest will not come out? The back reclines but the footrest does not move. Thanks!
It's certainly worth a shot. You just need to see if there's a similar arm/mechanism in play with your seat. There are instances I think where the mechanism has to be replaced, but I'd try this method first and see if it works for you. Hope it fixes it!
No one should have to do this when buying new furniture. Contact the place where you purchased it. Otherwise, the company will just keep selling them with the defect, and the consumer will have to deal.
This makes sense except if you bought it online and it was delivered to your door. Furniture stores are charging entirely too much for their crap. Good thought but nope
