Thanks for watching! Please consider subscribing to my new channel here: www.youtube.com/@jamminpcs. I'm trying to move the easier hardware stuff there so that I can focus on the more in depth troubleshooting and diagnostic videos here :)
EXCELLENT video!! Visually and conceptually clear, easy to understand, correctly paced (not too fast nor slow either) and right on point, without any non-sensical, delay talk or hidden publicity. I've already liked & recommended this video to my dad and a couple of friends who were in dire need of replacing their laptop screens. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
gurl my sister broke part of my Lenovo laptop frame and my parents think that means its broken like bruh and they are saying that I am not responsible like bruh because of them it happened

@@Kaalpurush_Katha Is this your LCD? www.ebay.com/itm/224451076282?epid=175597737&hash=item344253a0ba:g:hfUAAOSwipRgkn7U You could message the seller and ask what size it is. Or you can try to find it on your computer specs on the Manufacturers website.
I might a bit late to the bandwagon, but now I own a Lenovo V14 G2 ITL and honestly quite frustrated with the 1366x768 panel that comes with the laptop. Is it possible to change to the 1080p panel that is from the same model? Will there be any compatibility issues? Thanks
My acer laptop screen just broke, i had a old dell laptop with the same size and connector screen and decided to use it in the acer..... after changing the display, the laptop unfortunately isn't turning on, the laptop power LED won't turn on if the battery is connected, and if not connected, it will turn on only for a few seconds and then again turn off..... Already followed the steps from your videos the problem might be that I forget to unplug the battery when change the display, cause i thought it won't matter..... Let me know if you have any recommendations.... :) Acer Extensa 15 215-52 Dell Inspiron 15 3505
1. Not unplugging the battery may burn out the LCD during an install but usually will not harm the motherboard or other computer components. Is it possible something else was damaged or shorted? 2. For a computer that does not turn on, try this video first; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kOBY4k2Mn_k.html. Let me know how that goes :)
What if my screen is working but I have to squeeze the bedroom for it to show when I Let Go it stop in a Frozen screenshot and slowly fade away to a black and white or white and dark screen until I squeeze again it will show what's the problem with it
If you have to squeeze the Bezel for the screen to work, I would assume something is loose inside the LCD Assembly. I would get in there and make sure the LCD cable is attached correctly by reseating the connection. Unplug it and plug it back in, making sure its secure.
Initially, I knew that the laptop is booting to windows as I could hear the desktop beep sound. After seeing your video I could find the loose connection on the ThinkPad T420 laptop display after it dropped from my son's hands. A big thanks again.
This is a skillset I needed but was too scared to break the screen or damage the laptop. Nicely demonstrated and thanks for the tips about the cable care, connector pins and size.
no cause I'm watching this because one side of the whole thing disconnected from the thing that opens and closes the whole thing, and It looks as if it the whole top will fall off.. 😭 (its not mine its my sisters)
@@PC_Monkey its a Lenovo, although it's okay, It's not really fixable anymore, the top bit of the device disconnected from the bottom bit, I'll just be getting e new one!
Bro Great Video Man!!! Def helped me repalce the panel in a newer 7th Gen Lenovo i7. The only thing I really struggled with was taking out the plug into the mobo. But it was really easy after I figured out you have to flip up the clip. Nerve wracking as fuck but I did it!!! Awesome Video man, thanks for you're help!!! I have a channel but it's more builds and reviews, this is a great channel!!
My 8 years old Lenovo Z510 LCD went blank. I watched this RU-vid several times, read and wrote down many comments from you and your reviewers. First I thought the LCD was broken and planned to purchase it from Amazon. Then by following your suggestion I tried to unplug and plug LCD cable to the LCD itself. That fixed my problem. Now it is working. I am very happy. Thanks a lot and keep up with great work. I had just SUBSCRIBE and click the BELL with ALL.
Hello,Pc Monkey My Laptop Is Like a Green Screen and a pixel at the top and its still working but I kinda dropped my laptop So yea Please help Thank You.
HI there, just got the Legion 5 (2021) - Model 82JU001SFR. But the 120hz screen is a bit washed up (45 % NTSC & 250 cdm) and rather off putting when it comes to brightness and colors, so I wonder if you had any idea of a screen upgrade for my model. Preferably to 144/165hz with G Sync or atleast decent color gamut. Thanks in advance!
I bought the T-80S New Panel Test Tool for Inverter+LVDS cable + TV/Computer/Laptop Repair and the cable do not identify number of pins on the connector cable to the screen, and how do I find which goes where. I have over 100 screens I need to check before selling.
Hi there. Great video. Very Informative. I have a question. I have a damaged lcd screen on my Lenovo T510 Instead of buying a replacement screen, I have a T540p not in use. Could I not use the T540p's lcd and put it on the T510, or do they not have the same connectors and such like you've mentioned in the video
I'm having issues if you can help me. I have a Lenovo v15 G2 15.6" I have fitted the replacement 15.6" screen, however I can't lock the bezel back in place because the bottom panel of the screen, where you connect the video cable to, is wider and ends up sitting on top of the screw base. I want to cut down either side of this panel to make it sit in place, however I fear I could end up damaging the PCB in the screen and thus all my efforts are wasted. Could I get some guidance please?
Hey there, thanks for your help ! I have spilled oil inside my company dell Latitude 5590 and was wanting you to do a video showing how to disassemble the screen and every layer and clean them individually since the oil is probably on the all the various layers. Seems like it would be possible and even if a few particles end up inside it would beat the current screenshot, so if you could do it I think many would benefit since it is a common problem and although tedious i think it's do-able. I have cloud patches and white patches all over screen which makes it damn near impossible to view without an external monitor.....thanks !!
Great video!! My model is 81VS000US IDEAPAD . The scores holding the LCD look like this +. Phillips screwdriver does not work. Is there a special; tool I need./ Don't want to force and strip the screw. Thanks
I would like to replace my Lenovo Ideapad 330-15ARR with a touchscreen (it has tablet mode and pen input already). Is that possible and if so, what do I need to replace the screen with?
I've got a Lenovo V15 G2 and it's been no where near as easy as this and a nightmare. Just a warning. The hinge is one long thing and has to be very carefully prised up after working it from the back. Had to give up at the moment because it feels like the screen is glued onto the back - any advice here??
Screens are not usually glued to the top cover. They are usually held on by screws to the hinges or hinge assemblies that go up the sides of the LCD. If you could post a video on your channel and then message me back here when you do, I can then view and advise further.
Hope u can reply fast, i have the ideapad 1 15alc7, and it’s screen is touch, if i buy a screen that is not touch will the screen still function? Idc bout the touch part, i just want my screen back :(
I got a simple question. is it possible to upgrade the screen of that specific model you are showing in the video.? I mean can we install a screen with a better resolution? In case it´s possibly, could you please tell me where to get a screen with better resolution that is compatible with this laptop model. I would appreciate your answer a lot. Thanks.
Hi, I had my Lenovo Thinkpad touchscreen replaced but the new screen does not have any touch screen function, my camera and microphone stopped working too. I had this error 0xa00f4244 popped up in my camera app. Any idea why this happened?
Have you tried fully updating as seen here? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kX8bB725Ljw.html If so, and if this issue happened after the repair, it could be due to damage during the repair :(
Panel replaced by not working (black, seems not powered). I tried also the old panel (broken) and I get the same, feels like no power. Computer is working with external monitor. What do you think? LCD cable or something on motherboard?
If the computer is working with an external monitor then it is putting out signal. The LCD just isnt getting it. Could be a bad LCD, bad or loose LCD Cable, or a bad LCD Cable Port on the motherboard
My model P14S had a bracket (thin metal) on the lcd connector that looped around from the PC side of the connector around the LCD side of the connector. You need to pry and flip this bracket off the LCD side side before trying to pull the PC side and LCD side of the connector apart.
I have a 6 year old Lenovo T460s. WIth the help of your troubleshooting tutorial i managed to understand its either the LCD or the LCD cable. (i attached it to a TV). The LCD "stooped working" one night when i just put the laptop away in the evening (everything was fine), and let it on, and in the morning the LCD was and stayed black. - -> Why would a screen stop working while the laptop was just on, and not even touched? --> Which scenario is more probably in this case (the LCD or the cable)? --> How can a display just "die"? (what is the technical reason)
i was doing classwork and accidentally Broke my screen thingy, All I Did Was Press on the screen to lift it up (i didnt do it rough) and broke my screen-- Yet any idea to help? Im thinking of getting it fixed by christmas
Thanks for the video. If the new screen (and now the damaged screen too) are not displaying anything after replacement, will i need to replace the video cable? When i connect with HDMI the computer is still working.
Hello, thank you for the video, I have a question regarding my lenovo laptop. It is a lenovo v15 ADA. The screen was broken and after changed it we noticed that starting it the screen doesn't want to work. Illuminating it with an external light it is possible to barely see the images of the screen but not that much. We thought was the new screen damaged, we changed it, but the problem have not been solved. So we updated the driver and also the BIOS but nothing helped. Have you some idea about why we have this problem? Thank you!

For those with a longer shroud at the bottom of the screen, remember you don't need to remove it to access the LCD. It's very fragile so it's for the best.
That's ironic lol don't break my LCD thats' already broken for some reason or another that I'm here really enjoying this video to replace my cracked LCD. Perhaps the bezel itself can be broken if brute force is applied while removing the bezel? Great stuff so far though!!1
So... The Only necesary thing to Chose a Replacement LCD is 1. Amount of LCD pin 2. Connector Location 3. And The size of LCD to fit with the Frame Am I right? Or can somebody Help me type another requirement I might forgot?
Thats the basics to just replace a broken LCD. Most of my viewers are only concerned with the basics. For gamers or some professionals, they would care about some more technical aspects like the resolution.
Hi, I have a laptop. During playing music and video on it then suddenly it when shutdown. I tried to open it again using the power button it works but seconds pass it shutdown again. Again, i tried to open but nothing happen anymore but still the lights beside the power button is lighting. What's wrong with my laptop? Huhu The brand is Lenovo Ideapad Sorry for the grammatical error~

This video shows you how to replace an LCD in a laptop... so ya, dont break it as your installing it lol... pretty solid advice I think ;) If your LCD is broken, how is it broken? Whats happening that your trying to fix?
My asus fx504gd screen is broken, it is 60hz fhd ips 30edp I am planning to order 120hz with 30 edp pin and same resolution Are all screen with same edp pin and placement of connector will fit?
As someone who fixes these regularly, I hate the way Lenovo has designed the LCD unit. It's so easy to break the screen. No matter how careful you are, it's always bit of a gamble if it works in the end, the worst is when you have to replace the camera for example and the panel needs to come off.
MY LENOVO IS AN IDEAPAD 3 151GL05 AND I can't seem to find a video on it so I am about to try to fix it so will hope it's similar to some of the ones that have been shown
I think my laptop screen is tilted to one side by 1-2degrees , tho by seeing ur video I saw that screen is bolted, is that manufacturing fault or while travelling (I travel a lot) Model is acer nitro 5. Is it normal?
Good luck with that. Even the professional repairers in my area could not source a replacement screen..I think Lenovo make it hard/expensive to get repair parts.
I have never been unable to find a replacement LCD for a laptop lol. I repair 10-15 laptops a week and have had my shop for over 10 yrs. I dont think the professionals your going to are very professional lol
Please help lenovo Z580 have 30 pin / 40 pin connector? My laptop screen down on that pandemic day, I have to replace my Own. Please please please help..
Recently , my laptop had a hinge problem. And repaired from a shop , but now it has a small gap bw that display and screen case , would that be a future problem ??
i have an acre E5-574 Series laptop / Model N15Q1 if i want to replace my screen would it be the same as the laptop u have in this video or other ones ?
Every model computer is a little different. This may be a bit more like your computer; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-smraIR5RKOM.html
Firstly thanks for the video. However I seem to have come across an issue. I have a lenovo T480s, I wanted to replace the touch screen with a no touch screen. I thought I got the specs right (made sure it was 30pin connector) however it still won't fit. The new screens 30pin connector seems a fraction smaller. I saw online a mention of a difference in lanes as well. I'm still reading up for better understanding but now I'm just curious it's possible to replace touch screen with a non touch screen.
Hi, did you ever get a response to this? My cat just stood on my laptop and there was a pen btwn keyboard and screen. Now needing to replace. I would like to replace with a touchscreen if possible, but don't know how to find the right one. I guess if I can't find it, then non touchscreen will have to do... If I can. Thanks for any info.
Hi, i have 2 laptops. One with 15.3 inch and another one with 17.3 inch. The 15,3 inch screen has some black lines below screen that i was not sure if it was the eDP conector or screen that coused the issue since i have reconected the cable many times, the screen only have the blsck lines at 300hz, and i can get ridd of them if i switch to 60 then 300 hz again, but they will be back if laptop goes to sleep. so i tested the screen on my other laptop to be sure what could be the fault at that screen, on my 17,3 inch laptop i took out the screen that was in it and tested the 15.3 inch screen, everything was fine at start, and i saw the black lines, so i knew the screen was the issue. But after 2 min in windows log inn screen, i saw the screen flashing wierd. I hold the powerbutton to turn it off. And i reconected the 17,3 screen. Now on the 17.3 inch laptop some of the keys stopped working and self pressing. Even in bios they dont work. I did not unplugg the battery of the laptop. I have sent the laptop to warrenty and its getting fixed, but what do you think could be the issue? Was it becouse i did not unplugg the battery? The 15.3inch screen was eDP 40 pin 1.4 verison And the 17.3 was eDP 40 pin 1.3 verison, could that be the problem since this looked like it happent when the laptop went into sleep? Or could it be that the screen had powerissues? Have you ever experinced this. The 17.3 inch screen laptop work fine with external keyboard.
From the inside of your LCD? Most laptop LCD's are not designed to be opened. Best to purchase a new one as most are under $40 USD. For better info, you can message me the brand and model of your computer.
One of the clips may have broken. Very common. Those are not made very well. I use small double-sided tape like this; www.amazon.com/dp/B00PKIO40Y/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&aaxitk=hofsMXodQsQPhlInRW-14Q&hsa_cr_id=9304351130501&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_mcd_asin_2
I'm planning on buying an AMD Thinkpad as well, the display isn't nice. Can I replace it with better ones like ones with a 100% sRGB and at least 70% Adobe RGB?
Hello,I changed the screen at my Lenovo w15 iwl and the led lights are not turning on,the screen its working in dark only, the laptop as well if I connect a external display.Thank you
You can replace the LCD on most laptops. However, with every model, the process would be a bit different as each model computer is build a bit differently. What is the exact model of your computer?
