This video is special created for S. T. Dupont ligne 1 BR(Briquet Reglable)-the model from 70's yeas.

Just fixed a small Ligne 1 BR lighter like this one but the mechanism was slightly different. That flat black steel cam which opens the gas was stuck with a screw on the underside of the top assembly. Never met one like it. But the repair was a success. Even the gas stop shaft does not engage wth the black steel cam but just presses on top of it stopping the gas flow when the lid is closed. Even the rubber seal is not inserted into the shaft as in this case but just dropped in the hole. The steel shafe is blunt on both sides

Mine may be similar. When I removed the gas stop there was no seal. It does have a small hole on one side. So did you end up adding a seal to the shaft or not?

@@bkv04 a seal is usually always present under the piston. Whether it's inserted into the piston or just under it makes no difference. Just check that your old seal is not stuck inside the hole.

@@bkv04 below the piston and seal there is another metal piece with a thinner profile O-ring. This seal passes gas from the tank to the outlet gas nozzle. When you take this out. There is a meta washer and this assembly splits in 2 pieces. The O-ring does not fail often. But yours has failed and gas still flows.
