How To Fix Shift 2 Types Quotation Marks not At Sign @ in Windows 10

To Fix Shift key and 2 typing Quotation Marks instead of At Sign @ , follow these steps:
Open Windows Settings then click on Time and Language - in the next window, click on “Language” or “Region & language”.
Then under the title “Preferred language”, if the first language in that list is “English (United Kingdom)” click on “Add a language” and install “English (United States)”.
Once the “English (United States) is added, make it the preferred language and remove “English (United Kingdom) as shown in this video. That’s all.
If the problem still exists, click on “English (United States)” , then click on “Options”, in the next page, if there is a keyboard named “United Kingdom” remove the same..!

Thanks, I had English (US) as my default, and couldn't figure out why I still couldn't use quotes.... thanks to this vid I realized I needed to remove my 'Canadian multilingual standard' keyboard. Appreciate the help.

@@itechtips Tried doing it the way you're doing. No luck for me. I'm a Philippines resident and by default, I would have "English - Philippines" as a default choice along "English - United States." I even got rid of the former in Language under Time and Language and yet, every time hold Shift and the quotation mark button together, I still get the full quotation mark set. What do I do?

I found a solution after getting inspired from another answer on StackOverflow. I found that Shift button was used as part of an Input Language hot key. And so, it didn't work on the first press but worked on the second press as Windows knew on the second press that I am not going for the shortcut key (hot key). Here's how to disable this behavior: ABV: # = step #1. Search for Advanced keyboard settings #2. Click Input language hot keys #3. Select Between input languages, then press Change Key Sequence #4. Select Not assigned and Not assigned, then press the OK button #5. Press OK again

this did not work for me,but the fix was to click english united kingdom,go into optoins ,+ keyboard choose united kingdom extended,then remove united kingdom
