*Great product. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend I have never used a baitcaster before and did a lot of research before buying this one. I bought it with the Torrent casting rod as well and it works very nice.*
I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well ru-vid.comUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.
Thank you so much for posting this. This is the exact problem i was having with my sons fishing rod and i could not figure out why it was not reeling in, but with just one quick step i got it working thanks to you. U saved me a night of aggravation!!!!!! Your awesome!!!
Removing the silver disc, jiggling the pin on a spring, and reassembling solved the catching problem I was having preventing it from casting. My five year old got to go fishing, thanks!
Thank you for this video! We bought our daughter a fishing pole from a flea market and it didn't work. We had no idea even what sort of reel it was. Your video helped us fix it! Thanks from our family.
Ours wasn't casting at all. It would come in fine though. Thanks for showing me how to get to the insides and what a properly functioning inside should look like. The spring on our was missing, so I used the spring from a retracting ball point pen to replace it - worked like a charm. Then I also noticed the metal notch that holds the pin at the center had been bent too far out, pushing the pin out to always catch the line. Bent it back to center with pliers and the reel works like a dream now! Casts really far. So happy. Thanks for putting this up! My son will be so happy. Happy son, happy mom.
thanks! one reason why I never fished as a kid and my kids reel line got incredibly tangled, watched half the video and that was enough to understand the basic mechanics. thank you!
Perfect! Got my kid's reel fixed with zero problems. Don't worry about the naysayers criticising lack of camera help. The info is good enough to get the job done. Not every video has to be film studio worthy. This one was simple, short and got the job done.
God bless 🙏🏼 my collapsible rod reel wouldn’t let line out and I couldn’t figure out how to open that reel up. This vid helped for a last minute fix before lake season 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you so much for showing the inside of the reel. My pole broke and I took it apart thought I fixed it then put it back together. I kept putting the spring in the wrong place!😂😂
Great video , just illustrates the mechanism that needs to be fixed.I had fishing line that somehow got stuck in there, I lifted the top (my top wouldn't come off like his) and with a flash light I saw why my pin would not come out....cleared the fishing line with tweezers and scissors that was trapped and it worked like a charm
Man! Thank you! You're right. There are no other videos for this reel and this type of problem. Fast and straight to the point. I had very little time to fix this right before our trip! You're awesome. Thought I would have to go buy another one.
Oh my gosh, thank you SO much! I was able to fix my son's reel in just a couple minutes because of this video. I had been trying for an hour on my own! Thank you!
Thanks. I picked up a couple spincasts during cleanup week. basically they were just dirty , needed new string or the grease wore off so the people threw them away...bless their mechanically inept little hearts.
Been looking for videos/tutorials to fix spin cast, yours was VERY helpful.. but I would of like to see on video you removing the parts, putting the camera down kinda made me wanna look for others cuz I’m still having trouble other than that if you would keep camera on visual demonstration your video would be 💯 I appreciate your time
Wow, thanks for posting this! I’ve been trying to search for 30-40 minutes to figure out how to fix it. This took about 2 minutes and fixed my issue. Thanks!
This helped! My button wouldn't cast, turns out I had to pull on the outside of the little pin then line it up. It popped off track and that's why it wouldn't cast.
Thanks I almost throw away my favorite panfish reel. Once I unscrewed the cover I found a bunch of line stuck underneath keeping the pins from working properly.
I had to give up on the spinning reel. Yes, I practiced and was very good with it most the time, but when I was not good I was "punished" for it by tangles. Just give me the simplicity of the spincast reel. If I look like I'm not a pro by using such a reel, I don't care, I'm having fun.
did you know there a right and wrong way to put line on a spinning reel? I guess not. You may have also put on too much line. hint: the reel states the max line capacity if you read. The line should go on like and old cassette. It makes a difference. Tangles are also caused by the wrong line. a Spincast max line is about 6lb test. heavier will tangle. I don't recommend 2lb either. Fishing is simple, spincast are for children and you'll kick yourself when you loose a nice size fish because of using a toy. Man up!
Thanks for the video but next time 0lease have someone else hold the camera for you. I would've liked to see how you take off the inner parts. I need a video that shows me that and how to detangle a wiry mess. Thanks.
I hear you. These reels have plagued me over the last 40 years. I wish I had known this was the problem 4 or 5 reels ago. Not only cheaper but much easier also. God Speed Fishing
I can't unscrew the top inside disk no matter how hard I try (holding the reel). I tried jabbing a screwdriver in the square hole to give me leverage and that still didn't work. I have 2 different ones I'm trying to fix for my aunt and I can't get either one of them off. I guess I just need more muscle. Thank you for the video though! I fish with an open face and had no idea how to fix her problem and now I do, I just can't do it physically...
Thanks sir. I purchased one for my grandson and I'm having issues finding the drag. I'm filling the bail with line for him and putting a piece of Rubber on the end of the leader so he can practice casting at home. If you could make another on finding the drag on this type of bail that would be awesome!!! Thanks again, Caprice
The only place the line goes through is the hole in the front cover. It comes out from the side of the reel, then goes directly through the front of the cover.
you should have never bent it you should have replaced the pick up pin spring or strethed the spring out a bit because you had a weak spring bye bending that piece you alter the direction of the pick up pin and it will never work right then ether you have a weak spring and it needed to be replaced or you need to clean and lube the pick up pin
I’ve now watched SEVEN of these videos and not a SINGLE DAMN ONE OF THEM tells us WHY the line WON’T START REELING ONTO THE DAMN REEL. Thanks for wasting our time.
@@2Point what we have is reel handle cracking, reel spinning, line not moving….on an almost new rod and reel set. We see the little pins but absolutely nothing is catching on nor grabbing the line. Yes, we watched yours and others…completely…and NONE answer why.
