I found for myself that it only took using the install step to correct the issue. Thank you for taking the time to make the video all the same. Since it was what informed me that Steam can safely detect exsisting games and, not simply re-write over exsisting installs. Now I just have to figure out why Fallout 4 is launching fine via FSE but, causing a crash every time I endeavor to do so through steam.
THANK YOU! Jesus this caused me physical pain trying to fix. Steam uninstalled my D file and I had to manually select Steam apps in the D drive and they all came back. Thank you, saved me a massive headache.
I tried every other suggestion from websites and YT and nothing worked Your method worked immediately, first try, no issues. Amazing! Thank you so much for this
Thanks a lot. I downloaded 50 gb efootball game. But after clean cashe my game gone. After watching this video I get back my 1 day downloaded game. Thanks again
Thank you for taking time to make this but all I needed to do was go to settings, storage, then I just added my drive back, the drive I was using for my games.
Thank you so much! I had no idea why Steam wasn't recognizing my Hard Drive that I keep all my games on. I was worried that maybe my Drive was corrupted or had to get a new one.
@@zilla2320 ah thanks man, ill keep that in mind Just got Ark back last night, my 5 hours of progress was gone due to my cats playing at the wires without me noticing
figured it out faster than you got to the point but i might have been having a different issue. Both drives that had my games on had removed themselves from steam and all i had to do was re-add them again.
I'm having an entirely different problem and I thought this was the video to fix it but it's not. Basically steam is saying a game I have played and have achievements in and hours in does not have any saved data so when I go to play the game and tries to force me to make a new game and play from the very very very start instead of letting me continue the game where I was. I need help please I'm begging here I don't want to start this game over from the start I don't know what to do
Usually all your game files getts uploaded to the steam cloud servers. Now here if you are saying that the games aren't loading your progress then something has happended to your game files on the cloud. And in that case only steam can help you out here Try reaching out to them via support. Also I usually recommend having a local backup of all your game save data with you so that in case something like this happends and you can fix em right away
When I go to steam and go to storage my D drive isn’t showing up after I uninstalled and reinstalled steam, I clicked the “+” by the C drive to add it but even when I click the D drive folder under “this pc” it doesn’t add it back and all my games were on that drive, can someone he plz help on how I get the drive to show up
Yeah I tried this and it just isn't working still. I will come back to it in the morning to like quadruple check haha, hopefully I'm just doing something stupid.
Actually its straight forward. In the video I have shown one extra step by telling you guys to first create an empty folder then select that directory and then copy the files to it. This because many of you might get an error while trying to add the existing directory saying that the folder needs to be empty before you add them to steam. But many of you can directly try adding the existing folder without creating a new empty folder. If it doesn't allow you then try my method by creating a new empty folder and then copying your games files to it after adding it to the steam. Hope you understand what iam trying to explain here.
@@Techofriendly I did everything you did in the video and it still won't discover the files. I've just moved the game to a steam library on a different drive, uninstalled it from the other and changed the install location. Now it works and discovers the file. This clearly works for a lot of people so I don't mean to knock the video or anything because it is very straight forward. My computer has just been kind of finicky with me lately so I wouldn't be surprised if it's just my computer giving me sas. Thanks for the help though!
I had my Steam Library with all the games in Drive D : Games : Steam Library : common. Now I am trying to locate the same folder, It isn't allowing me to select the above mentioned path. Instead it creates a new folder in D : SteamLibrary
It will only allow you when the folder is empty. Thats the reason I recommend the step in my video. Also you have to select only upto D:games for yor games to be visible.
my gta V folder which was installed before and csgo folder which was also installed before were replaced by new folders with same names with nothing inside them anyone please help they just dissapeared
