How to fix suction cup not holding

Didn't really "fix" the suction, you simply changed it to a Velcro solution.

"What shirt am I gonna wear?" Haha, and we didn't even get to see 😅 I use velcro for everything (that and "duck" tape) 😂

Funny - I just bought 2 awesome Vantrue N2 Pro Dash Cams. One for my wife and one for me. Hers sticks for all of a half day then falls. Mine I can’t get to stick for one second. New car and spotless. The manufacturer tech guys told me to use alcohol on both surfaces then hang. Nope did not work. They then ask for a picture. I have a device next to the area with suction cups that has been there for month without falling off. A believe it’s a poor design and the manufacturer has a problem. My next step is definitely Velcro as suggested. I would recommend industrial strength (10 Lbs) that you can buy from Lowes or Depot. Good advice Papa!

Great fix. I was about to get the silicon out and really attach it to the windshield. Glad I did a little research before doing something drastic. Here in Oklahoma, it's been more than a little hot and humid and the dang dash cam just falls off in minutes, and it's new!!! thanks for the quick fix----

Can the residue be cleaned if you should decide to remove the Velcro?

And what keeps the velcro from falling off? Texas heat does not affect the glue of the velcro?

Before ya crank out the Velcro.....clean off the mount service with rubbing alcohol.....microfiber towel.... clean the spot on the glass too.. works like new. Y’all try it

I tried this and it did hot work. Tried it on the soap suction holders which i put on clean bathroom tiles.

What is the brand you used velcro pad with adhesive?

Awesome idea. I can't stand when I have my gps up and you have your head turned going around a turn and bam!...It falls off the window. Scares the crap out of me lol. What you use that dash cam for Papa T?

Glad you showed it in the car I was wondering how well it would hold up. That Velcro is some pretty good stuff worked out really well and is easy to do great tip Papa so easy a Bubba could do it ha!

Looks great, I'm wondering if it would be safe to use on a heated rear window? And if you wanted to remove it would it damage the elements?

surprised it's working, I was a parachute rigger in the Navy, When the glue gets weakens from the sun get Goop b gone to clean your window and put new Velcro on after cleaning with isopropyl alcohol. Now git back to the BBQ👍

The hot sun will cause the adhesive to melt and the whole thing will fall off the glass. The only stuff that sticks permanently to glass is epoxy resin.

Heat the suction cup up with a heat gun and it will work like brand new.

That's great for you, but I don't think it's going to help me stick my suction cup to the inside of my aquarium. Thanks anyway.
