How to fix Sunroof stuck open window at home 

I have been trying to get my car fixed for months and I couldn't get it closed but now you just showed me what I can do . This is a awesome video. Thank you very much.

Great video! I have a 2002 Nissan Maxima and the sunroof was stuck open. The car's in rough shape so I don't want to put money into this thing. I followed this video, unhooked the motor and slide the sunroof shut no problem. So at least I had the sunroof closed. I then hooked the motor back up along with refastening the screws holding it in. I turned the car key switch on and tapped the sunroof button and it started working again so maybe it was just stuck. Who knows.

Hey that hole in the plastic motor case is for manually closing ur sunroof no reason to pull the motor out just put the Allen bit that fits on a ratchet and see which way is open and closed

Thank you so much for making this video. I had the same problem and was able to fix the issue.

My 00 maxima did this. I pulled the switch and checked continuity, and found that it wasn't getting good contact on one of the connections for the close function. I cleaned all the contacts, and it works perfect now.

Do you have to turn/cut off the motor. My sunroof has been a little bit open since I bought my lemon. I've got the Allen key hole exposed. But I can't get the sunroof to budge.

Before all this. If you have access to the motor tap it like you would a car starter and sometimes it will start working.. Do the simple things first 😉.

Wish it worked for me... the cable or hing is jammed on one side so i have to remove it to disconnect the cable if jammmed, or fix the hinge
