+Ed Gordon Thank you for your question. As the video describes, the server is looking for one of the following files: index.htm, index.html, index.php (in that order). Putting a file with one these names will cause the file to load, instead of the "Index of" page. If you want a file with a different name to load (other than index), you can specify the file name in your .htaccess file. +InMotion Hosting Thank you for the response. I actually did end up fixing it with help from your video. It set me on the right path. Somehow an underscore got added to my index.html file like this (index.html_) Dont know how it got there, maybe I clicked on something by accident, but when I removed that little underscore everything went back to displaying normal. Thanks much!!

Moving the files up a folder would be the easiest solution, but you could also change the document root of your site. Sorry for the problem with the home button on your website. Check the URL for the button. It could be entered incorrectly. We would need to see the URL to evaluate it. You can also contact technical support if there is a server issue.

Hello Hal, you can set the default index page using the .htaccess file, here is a guide: www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/htaccess/htaccess-change-index-page Just add the folder name before the file such as "folder/index.html"

I recommend checking your .htaccess rules to see if there is some time of redirect setup there: www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/htaccess-file/ If you are using a CMS such as WordPress, they will often manage redirects, blocking you from accessing specific files directly. This would also be handled by .htaccess rules.

Hey pranjal, this fix should work for a WordPress site. If the issue is still occurring, you may want to double-check to make sure your site was installed in the proper folder.

Maybe ensure the filename is "index.php" (all lowercase), try in a private browsing session, and see if that works. Otherwise, you may need to recreate your php.ini file. But you should contact Live Support for further assistance on that.

As long as the video is in the document root of your server, they should be listed. Here's a video on finding the document root: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PRex_d1SKv0.html But, a better solution would be to install a CMS (content management system) such as wordpress, upload the videos to RU-vid, then embed them on a page or post in WordPress. Once you have set a default page to load, as described in the video, it should display successfully.

You can create an index.html to replace the index listing or use the fix mentioned in the video.

You should have one by default. If not, you can create one.

You'll need to ensure there's an index file in the root directory for that primary/addon/sub domain. You can change that in cPanel or your Apache config file if needed. For further assistance, I recommend you contact your hosting provider.

You will need access to the files on the server. If you're on a server where you don't have access, then you'll need to speak with your technical support team about preventing the directories from being listed.

You would need "Edit" access to modify the file names or FTP/File access to upload a new file.

Hey there! It is possible that your site files aren't located in the correct level of the folder structure. Try moving the files up one level to see if that resolves the issue.

You can use SSH, FTP, cPanel, or other server management software to access a parent directory. Remember, some directories are not public-facing for security reasons.
