I got a 3888 a few months ago too & lost flybridge steering bringing her home to Santa Barbara from San Diego...after watching this video I now think I had a bubble going on... Thanks for the clue, I will bleed my lines tomorrow & see if that does the trick!

I have a 1988 Bayliner Avanti. The steering mechanism looks similar if not identical. I lost steering at one point. There was an oily greasy mess under the helm, I though was some bird or something. I cleaned it up and didn't give it another thought. Then I discovered my steering was inoperable the next time I tried it. My boat only has the one steering wheel and with the outboards turned, it was impossible to control. Is there more info on this mechanism? What model is it? Any idea how to get the dash off around it? Any other help or suggestions would be appreciated!
