Good video bud .. I’ve had the exact same problem with my new penn surfblaster 8000.. guna do the same fix tomorrow so I’m hoping there’s a few shim washers in it so I can remove one or two .. thanks mate 👍🏻
Getting back into fishing after a 35 year hiatus. I was spooling up four spindles, and this happened to one of them. I thought this had happened because I anchored the string in the middle of the spindle, not the rear. The other three spindles spooled up fine.
Thanks. Just got home casting a 1 ounce kastmaster in 4 C temp .on a vanford paired on 9 foot rod . Had line twist before starting , well after about 10 casts or so the whole line settled perfectly straight and tight on reel . It's 40 lb braid. Power pro too which I never use anymore, think varivas better..but , go figure
Line twist can be a pain in the butt too, especially when trolling and you have lines sent way back and then something starts twirling. Definitely takes up room on your reel too. Another trick is to get your line spoiled out and put a drill on it and spin it til it's straight and flat (ish) again lol. And no problem!
Brought a Penn Authority, getting knots left and right . Loaded towards the bottom , shop took a shim out . Line lay got better , still have a lash here n there . Have a bit of concave in the middle , not sure how to fIx that . Have a 5500 with 30lb test
Awesome, well at least you're good now! Sometimes it happens to the best of us. I ordered an AVET EXW802 and got it in with nicks in the spool that could cut braid. Had to wait another week and a half for it to be swapped. It sucks but at least it's handled
