Self hosting is totally fine. I don't cover it in this video but am planning on recording a follow up. Anytime you embed a youtube video you should also add video schema. This code snippet is what Google search will look at first and know the details of the video of the page. Here is a tool to create the schema - videoschema.com/
Thanks Jake. That was really helpful. Som of the videos on my pages are not detected by Google. According to the report currently only half of the videos on my website is found (including both indexed and non indexed) The rest is yet to be discovered by Google. Should I do anything in regards to this or wait for the time being to check if the count increases gradually?
Hi Akshay. Are these pages already indexed? If not, you can add the page url to the inspect url field at the top of Search Console and request a crawl of the page. If it is indexed, I would review the troubleshooting section of the docs to see if you can do any optimization so Google finds the videos. support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9495631#troubleshooting
@@akshaykrishnan5350 That is a great idea. For anyone else finding this comment and using WordPress, you can use a plugin if you only embed RU-vid videos (wordpress.org/plugins/youtube-video-sitemap-generator/) if you embed youtube wistia and vimeo (yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/video-seo/)
Yes that is what worked for me. It made it more prominent. But if the video is used as a supporting element to a page it is ok to leave it as it is but instead consider creating dedicated pages for your videos. This way you could gain some more search visibility. All worth testing with one video to see how it goes. Thanks for commenting!
i have found these errors : Video outside the viewport Video not processed Video not processed yet.... so my pages are already indexed, videos are having thumbnail URL ,so how i will solve this issue by adding the sitemap of video in each video page ?
I would read these articles for more context on what these errors mean and how to solve them. searchengineland.com/google-search-console-video-indexing-report-gets-three-new-issue-details-428119 and support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9495631?hl=en#indexing_status
