So I've recently downgraded an old PC to run Windows XP. But when I go to view my network connections I have nothing in there. The PC has a wireless adapter AND I'm plugged directly into the modem, but no matter how many variations I run in the new connection wizard I can't seem to get the "Lan or High-Speed Internet" category to appear. Every video covering the subject has that box, but there is nothing that shows a situation where that selection is just straight up missing.
I've had that issue on an old computer of mine too, along with anything that normally works not working. I have an even older computer I got from a friend that has XP, but that is working perfectly fine, but when I reinstall it on another computer, so many things just don't work. Same thing with Windows Vista, 7, and 8.
So, my old Dell Latitude D810 with Windows XP SP 3, has an excellent wi-fi connection to my router. However, IE is unable to display any webpages. Bing will bring up search results but when you click on a link it can't display the page. Would your fix address that issue? Thanks!
So yeah, Internet Explorer is not supported anymore. So I suggest you get mypal browser. It is compatible with Windows XP. I don't know if you have a second computer lying around with a USB, but maybe you can install mypal into the usb first
I’ve just clean installed Windows XP on an old laptop I’d forgotten I had and I’m having the same issue with Bing and opening webpages, did you get this issue fixed?
I have a problem connecting to my 5G wireless router with XP, my xp asks for a 6 or 7 digit password but my router has a 9 or 10 digit letter and number password. What can I do?
I have a Dell Latitude D600 laptop from over 20 years ago. When I installed Windows XP Media Center Edition, I was having trouble with the Wi-Fi. Can you please help me out with the Wi-Fi and the driver that's compatible for my Dell Latitude D600 laptop from over 20 years ago?

Hi, I have a Toshiba M60 running XP, trying to connect to net, says weak signal, but it’s trying to connect EE and I am on Virginmedia. Have tried all sorts but can’t get rid of the EE, my SSID comes up but when I try and connect it just says weak signal unable to connect every time, never asks me for SSID password, reset so many times, even tried drivers etc, no different. Tried usb dongle and Ethernet same result. My mobile is on EE and I have other laptops and they are all fine, have you any ideas that could help please, many thanks
When I hit repair it says "windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: connecting to the wireless network." Another problem I have is the bottom of my laptop is getting to heated.
Check Device Manager and see if the Wireless card is Enabled. For that matter make sure it is physically turned on if the device has a physical Wireless Switch.
