Very concise and easy to understand explanation of tiller, thank you.

Oh man, this helped out a ton. My bow (a gillo g2 with l2's) was loud. I checked the measurements like you did, realized I was half an inch off, made the change and now I could probably assassinate a ninja, its quiet.

Hi man. Good tutorial, just something you could mention is that by changing tiller you should re-measure the brace height and the position of the nocksets, as the arrow angle may change and probably hits the rest when leaving the bow, or affects the angle of their impact on the target. Thank you for the tutorial, keep going.

Hey, thanks for the info. Does that mean that i should make my string after adjusting tiller? because I'm guessing any test string you use to measure will give back the same tiller. Thanks if you see this

Hi. I have changed to shoot barebow so I now put 3 fingers under the nock instead of two below and one above. Now my bow groans when I shoot it like the limb doesn't like me coming down the string. I feel I need to adjust the tiller so I'm sharing the load to both limbs instead of the bottom limb so much. Is this right? If so what do I do?

On my ilf limbs wen I clicked them in they don't go fully over the tiller bolt wen strung only half the bolt holds it in place is this right or should it go in all the way in so the full bolt covers the limbs

I know this is an old post but can you help me understand the tiller on a recurve bow non removable limbs? I have a Hoyt Pro Medallist hunter 1973. Thank you Dan

If i'm using three under techniques, it is better to using positive or negative tiller?
@x3roxide
@x3roxide 6 лет назад
3 under is usually best to be neutral tiller - so no difference between the top or bottom limb. Although if you're string walking this may change.

Matthew Briffa I'm using string walking technique, and now I'm using neutral tiller

When you measure the tiller, press the bow square against the limb and rotate the end looking for the smallest measurement. This should be 90°. But good video explaining tiller and how to adjust.

My bow has the same tiller length how to adjust it I have a wooden riser.
@MrSandquist

If you do not have a tiller adjustment (limb bolt that has a set screw so it can be adjust in and out), then you cannot adjust your tiller.

please help me . . . . . . . . . "assume" One uses 2-under, 1-above DRAW with a Finger-Tab. Assume One always re-adjusts String's Nok-set to same position on string r.w.t. Rest (for Nocking Arrow to string, same way). Assume default TILLER was set to Bottom-limb=7.0625" & Top-limb=7.375". . . . . . . . . . Now please help with what happens NEXT ..... if TILLER is CHANGED to Bottom-limb=6.875" & Top-limb=8.000" , will the Arrow arrive on the target higher up the face, or lower down on the face???? Also, if TILLER is CHANGED to Bottom-limb=7.5" & Top-limb=7.125" , will the Arrow arrive on the target opposite way to first [changing to EXTREME positive tiller] example {using the slight/minor Negative tiller}???? What does practical science demonstrate happens to arrow trajectory ???? Please help me ? ?
@shoreshotarchery
@shoreshotarchery 6 лет назад
I have not intentionally tried to do that. I do know if your tiller is extremely off it will make your limbs very inefficient so my guess would be that the arrow would be lower on the target. If they are closer like you last example your limbs should me more efficient and you should get higher arrows.
