RU-vid is great because of guys like you "doransignal". My Mother-in-Law was about to be robbed by a Locksmith to reprogram a new Key Fob. I asked her to let me look at it before the scheduled robbery. The Battery was dead and the battery metal cage had come loose from the main board. I resoldered the battery cage, installed a new battery, and cleaned all contacts, and to my surprise still did not work. I decided to give my trusted RU-vid a try. I watched your video and did not see much I had not done, then your bonus suggestion (aluminum foil) did the trick. Mom's Key fob was and still is held together by tape, I will purchase a new fob case to resolve this issue, two fob cases only cost me $8.90 including taxes. Again, my friend..Thanks
Thanks for the video! I was skeptical but gave this a try. I had one remote that hasn’t worked for months and a second working intermittently. I was getting close to buying a new remote. I am glad I gave this a try! Remotes for my 2011 HHR are a good as new.
The cleaning didn't help... BUT, the tiny cutout bits of foil on the inside of the fob... DID work! Don't know how long it will last but for the moment it's working better than brand new. Fingers crossed it will stay working for a good while. Thank you for the help!
