The third and final piece of your perfect live streaming audio setup is the ridiculously affordable Behringer 'MicroMON' MA400. Add this audio monitor between your XLR microphone and Behringer Shark FBQ100 for delay-free audio for both you and your audience.
The Behringer Shark FBQ100 is a great way to synch your external microphone and DSLR camera for live streams, but there's a small catch. If you try to monitor your sound from you audio interface, your audience will hear perfectly synched audio, but you'll hear your own delayed voice in your ears - how annoying!
The solution is the monitor your audio before it gets delayed by the Shark, and that's where the Behinger MA400 comes into play.

Hi Tony. I don't have an HA400, but I did find this video that shows how to connect the HA400 to a mixer: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8Rp1ktXL-dc.html

Anthony... Kudos. First I found your video on the Shark and learned great tips on setting ms delay ms quickly. I am using it exactly as you're set up, with a Scarlett. Then after dialing in the correct delay I was going nuts hearing the delay in the monitor headphones, and BAM! I then found this video on the MA400. Can't tell you how you turned my night of frustration around. INVALUABLE!

I would add this... Even when everything was hooked up correctly (including setting the Scarlett Solo as the sound INPUT in Apple system preferences) the delay was not implemented in Zoom! After much frustration I discovered in Zoom preferences under Audio there is a second option for choosing the audio input source. It wasn't until I ALSO set this to the Scarlett Solo for the input that the audio delay from the Behringher was implemented in Zoom with a normal audio/video sync. I hope this helps someone else! Cheers

Which microphone you are using here in video? Dynamic or Condenser?

I'm using the AT2020 condenser mic - XLR version, not the USB version

Hi. I am thinking of getting this HA400. I have a pretty standard integrated sound card in my PC (cannot upgrade it into something else or better). I need to amplify headphones source. I also use external speaker 2.1 system with a subwoofer (active one), which is connected to LINE OUT at the back of a PC. Do you think I could connect the HA400 (or other) to LINE OUT, and then connect the speaker system and headphones to HA400? Would this work? Thnx.

I have a Shure SM58 and it's low (can't hear anything) while using on PC, the mic is really good, do u think that if I use only this MA400 can help me, does it amplify the mic signal? I don't understand much, does it have phantom power?

Hi Gustavo! The MA400 can pass power to the mic, though from what I've read different mics can have greater power requirements. I'm using an AT2020, which does require phantom power, and the MA400 supplies enough power and produces good volume. How are you connecting the microphone to the computer?

I want to use this for drumming, can I plug a cable from my drums into the monitor input then listen to it with headphones? Thanks!

does this allow me to plug it directly into my pc and listen to the audio from my pc and also listen to the mic too?

I think it needs to connect to an interface

What does the “Mic Thru” does? I am planning to place the band monitor into the monitor in, and then the microphone of my guitar amplifier into the mic in, and then from the mic thru, it will send my raw guitar signal to the mixing system. Is my concept correct? Thanks a lot!
@anthonybanks

Hey, Jay! The Mic Thru allows you to run your mic signal through the monitor to other devices, like an audio interface (e.g. Scarlet 2i2). I think you have the right idea. Let me know how it goes!
