I have a loud creak when I hit the recline stop that this video didn't seem to address, and another one when I rock the seat. It's a great video and it really helped me find parts of the chair, but unfortunately, it's not really helping my noises! Furthermore, putting silicone lubricant on the back side and it made reclining noisier. I cleaned it off with some isopropyl alcohol and it made that part quiet again.
I'm so glad you took the time to comment this, because I just followed the steps and mine started a much louder "groan" than it had before. Cleaned with alcohol and it's quiet again, just like you said. I have other creaks somewhere that weren't fixed by this tutorial, so I'll need to figure out exactly where they're coming from and see if there's anything that can be done 🤞
None of this worked HOWEVER I flipped my gesture up-side-down, popped off the bottom panel, pushed down on feet to recline back rest and sprayed wd40 onto the bar underneath. This worked.
I'll give this a shot! Any reason you recommend using silicone WD-40 instead of white lithium grease? Looks like steelcase in the past recommended the white lithium grease
We've just noticed that this process has worked well for us in solving the majority of issues. The only one we really don't recommend is regular WD40 on carpet surfaces because it can stain the carpet.
