I took up golf a year ago and my slice can be the stuff of nightmares. This is the best video I’ve seen on the causes of slicing and it’s delivered in a calm, confident and rational way that makes it easy to revisit. I’m not there, yet, but I slice much less and my confidence is growing that I won’t.

Great video. Chuffed to see you still making content. I came across your channel several weeks ago and it's helped my game immensely. I noticed today I started going back to old habits and was trying to hit the ball too hard so this video is good timing for me

I’ve always naturally drew the golf ball. However, when I’m struggling, the draw becomes a consistent hook. Recently, I’m been working on fading the ball (like most pro’s) and I’ve become a much more consistent ball striker. It’s much more controllable.

You are in a small minority of golfers who naturally draw the ball and you are right if that draw has a tendency to become a hook learning to fade the ball is a great way to gain more control and consistency. Great video as always lots to work on. QQ on weight transfer. Filming myself I note I am swaying off the ball on my backswing rather than turning and i'm feeling pressure is more on the front and outside of my back foot at top of the backswing. To help me turn, rather than sway where do you feel the pressure on your back foot most at the top of the backswing? Do you feel pressure pushing down on the back of the right heel or do you feel it on the inside of the backfoot? I'm struggling swaying too much and feel like having most pressure on the outside of my back foot at top of backswing is not help. Thanks. Additionally how is the book coming on? Any timetable when I may be able to cross your palms with silver yet?

Re WT your problem is unlikely to be swaying but more that you are lacking turn. So long as you are turning some head movement behind the ball is fine. But it sounds due to where your weight is in your foot that there is insufficient turn. This is often caused by trying to keep your head too still and keeping the left heel on the ground. This is all explained in the new book which is now finished but for a final edit then typesetting then printing. Expect it on the shelves with a few short weeks - then you can cross our palm!! Keep up the good work and thanks for your support. Oh yes to answer your Q Once you get all the above right your weight should feel very stable and flat on your foot with the majority on the heel at the top of your backswing.

Fellow "Easiest Swingers": I cannot recommend highly enough the book "Stop that Slice" by Joe Dante and Len Elliot. Published in both the U.S. and England in the early 1950s, and long out of print. It can still be found on used book sites and sometimes eBay. I am not exaggerating in saying it is worth anything you need to pay to get a copy.

Just trying to explain what out to in means. Many golfers hear this term a lot but don’t understand what it actually means. Path and plane are intrinsically linked ie. is it possible to have a steep plane AND an inside attack path? Furthermore if you have a steep attack (out to in) is this not going to affect direction?

Sure they’re obviously linked but I was just referring to you saying there is confusion about what the term ‘out-to-in’ path really means (2:34), then what you actually explain is an ‘over the top’ plane without really explaining what path means i.e. relative to the target line
