How To Fix Your Watch Crown
The stem & crown is what allows the watch be set. A stem is attached to the crown of the watch and goes into the movement. The watch stem/crown on new and vintage timepieces can be delicate and may easily break or become damaged by a sudden impact or pressure. Without these key pieces, it will be impossible to set the time.

I was afraid of that. I guess I will have to get a lathe after all… Need to find somewhere to find blank stems though.

I want your tools!!...What size drill did you use and what size tap was used? Are all stems and screws on watches metric? I recently changed out a calendar wheel on a ISA J330 and couldn't believe how small two of the three screws used to hold down the plate over the wheel were....smallest I've ever seen.
