dude I watched like 3 other vids featuring the "Pros" and none of them mentioned the Tension or Break knobs. That little tweak has me pitchin and flippin like a champ. I know its one of your older videos, but it's still getting the job done. Thanks.
I know. That isn't my heavy cover flippin rod. I used that rod to show they you don't need expensive equipment to be an efficient fisherman. I normally use 50
I just found out that you can teach an old dog new tricks. I am a senior citizen who has never "pitched" a bass lure. I stopped fishing for almost 25 years and recently got back into it. Pitching was not in the picture but flipping was as far as I can remember. I know I did it with spinning reels but do not remember calling it pitching. I have watched several videos where the anglers were pitching. I tried it with disastrous results. LOL I can handle a level wind with the best of them and I am pretty accurate as well. But the pitching has been difficult. After some searching on it I found your video. While watching it you pointed out the release point with a partially loaded rod. I went outside and almost immediately was pitching about 30 or more feet. I know with just a little practice this will increase and make fishing pads and other places much easier and more effective. You did a super job!
Just wanted you to know that I've honestly learned a lot by watching your videos. I'm new to baitcasting, and the way you explain & demonstrate diffrent techniques is awesome man. Keep those videos coming brother. Thank you for taking the time to make them.
love your videos. very helpful for an old spinning reel guy. i just received my abu pro max and ugly stick elite casting rod (hopefully a good combo). i have flourocarbon and braided line, gonna try both....wish me luck. thanks for the good videos!
I’ve watched quite a few videos on this technique. This is the only one I’ve saved to show to a buddy of mine who’s trying to master the flip cast. Thanks man
Dude this video helped so much. I didn't know about setting the brakes to adjust to pitching. Just did it and it's night and day! Thanks for the help bro!
Great videos man!! Ive recently switch to braid myself and haven't yet used it on a lake or pond.. but just testing it in the yard.. I cant believe the difference.. I cant believe I didn't switch sooner.. for me makes flipping/pitching so much easier!! great videos man.. keep it up!!
Had I shot this video, how many kids would have viewed it? Probably “ZERO”. This young man has 1.6 million subscribers that are probably mostly younger people. Young men like this are great assets to the future fishing. THANKS A LOT!!
Wow, you need to go back to doing videos like this. The sound quality with the fast talking is amazing, the shaky cam is so effortless it seems almost unintentional. Lol. Just jokes man. This is probably the best flipping tutorial on RU-vid. Thanks for all the videos.
Pretty good video and good to see a young man like you explain the techniques in a very enthusiastic manner! But, you probably should not refer to a baitcasting reel as having a "bail". Sure is too bad we all had to experience those terrible comments by bigfish and jeff.
Andrew let me explain a $100.00 reel VS a $200.00 reel, the internal parts are different, such as how many ball bearings there are!! take a stradic and a sustain the bodies are the same (not the rotors or the bails just the bodies) but 1 has more bearings then the other, just look at the break down of the reels 1 will have plastic bushings vs. ball bearings and the same is true with gears some are plastic and lets look at 1 other thing, THE DRAG the cheaper reels tend to have O lets say 6-10 lbs. of drag but a higher end reel will have lets say 13-17 lbs. of drag, Now as far as rods a 7' rod is nice but a 7-10 to 8' is reel nice due to the fact you can make a farther cast and more precise cast and the sensitivity is crazy!! I have been a rod builder for 15 years trust me and I hope this helps you out!!!!
jeffel80 YOU ARE SO WRONG! as a custom rod builder for 15 years in Florida I have built more 7'6 to 8' rods for captains do to accuracy!! know what you are talking about before talking about it!!! I have been doing this (fishing in Florida) for over 30 years bro!! and some people do like the shorter rod but not many that know how to fish and not spook the fish!! read up on rod builders comments on why they build longer rods!! and you will learn!!
you are wright to some point!! you guys will grow out of this and learn!!! I do not have the time for foolishness!!!!!!!!!!!! good luck and hope to fish against you SOON!!!!
do you know how to under hand cast I just learned how to I seen kvd doing and expo so when I was taking my picture with him I asked him what it was called and I like it almost more that pitching
Sean king Y have a shakespeare alpha combo for saltwater and freshwater 10 years old and no problem they last long A 100$ combo good 500$ combo super good
the expensive stuff like my premier abu's do cost more yes but I can guarantee that my kid I'll be able to fish with all my revo reels because your paying for quality so have fun with them 50 buck reels they ain't gonna last long
every time i see you put your finger on the release and hold it down while you crank the handle, that grinding noise makes me cringe.... go easy on the reels man, good video tho, great job
