In this video I describe the process of how I look for guitars with potential for resell, and how I do a general cleaning on them to prepare them to sell again. In this example, I find a Takamine from Japan that was in dire need of cleaning.

Good vid brother.I have been doing this for at least 35 years and I used to do ok with resale.I am a softy so, I always let them go at a bargain price, especially if the buyer was a kind, respectful person. I believe in paying it forward anytime that I can. With the current prices being set by reverb and ebay it has become very difficult to find a deal these days. Guitars that I have always picked up for very cheap to fix and give away are now hundreds of dollars. I still do it when I can just because I love bringing them back to life and seeing them get a chance to be alive and cared for again. Thanks for the video my friend.

Thanks for watching and telling your story. Prices have gone up, but that also has created an opportunity on the buying side, and the ability to make more selling it, as I have always found the way to make money with most things is buy local and sell nationally. However, if you know your gear and have the time and habit to check sites like Reverb and EBay every day, then you can hop on deals fast that can later be turned for a profit. As for helping others, I have found a few Sigmas and Alvarez for $100 or less that I have fixed up and given to friends or sold for cheap. I don’t mind giving someone a good deal on a guitar if I know it will get them started playing. However, only 50% of people let it sit and never play. Keep paying it forward and it will always come back, just remember it might be in a different form!
