This is great, excellent!!!Going to use the same procedure on my boat, it uses a hydraulic type transmission. One thing I would add is using a hose clamp on that one side that leaks so you don't have to worry about it leaking or coming apart.

never thought of that, could be done by air compressor to knock all ATF residue, thanks for sharing

Hey how can I flush the transmission with it out of vehicle? I've got my ford's ranger transmission it has had a little bit water in it so I wanna flush transmission lmk thanks

Would you recommend this if you are just doing a filter and fluid change on your transmission. When I was changing My ATF and filter on my dodge journey it was pretty dark and so I decided to clean the cooler by just blowing air and flushing the fluid out. It was even darker and almost I see small silver shaving.

So, ATF is one of the best cleaners and detergents available. I use it yo clean engine bores before building them. Just save the money, pump ATF through it, then acetone to clean the ATF.

I just bought a JX35 with 213k miles. Should I flush the cvt cooler to prolong the life of the cvt?

So tjis also cleans the cooler at the same time . Looks like it would help to have a extra pair of hands . So call a friend . 😊

I think you blow the air after the adding the cooler too to get it dry and then bleed the radiator by running the engine until all the air bubbles are out. Squeeze the hoses while car is running.

Your cooler actually goes into your radiator its a separate closed system in the radiator

You really do need to use rubber gloves you don't know what kind of chemicals may get into your bloodstream

With the radiator cap off or else your hoses may blow even if you have a pressure valve it may not let enough air in time. My truck hoses were had too much psi. So I had to bleed it manually. If you have a bmw it’s a must to bleed the lines. By turn key to on position holding gas peddle 30 seconds to let the computer know your wanting the fans to kick on and water pump to pump coolant until you see a steady stream of coolant. The engine should not be running just turn the key to get the heat on blast. I just like to put the info out there for DIY. Bleeding any closed system when you detach a hose air pockets get into the system. And with bmw it’s pressured system. You also must use the correct coolant on any euro car. Or else it’ll go into limp mode. This is for any card that have transmission fluid cooling internally into the radiator. Only
