Thank you this was a great video and looks easier than I thought. I was very intimidated to do this in my home, but now thanks to you and your video I feel more confident.
i’m a new homeowner and my dad is 9 hours away. i’d typically ask him for help with car & home maintenance but he is hearing impaired and not very tech-savvy so facetime and phone don’t work well for us. these tutorials really help me get started and know what to do/not do. thank you!
This small tank is called the thermal expansion tank which is now code for installations from 2006 and newer. The expansion tank is designed to handle the thermal expansion of water as it heats up in the water heater, preventing excessive water pressure.
This water heater is only about 3 years old and had never been flushed before. Next week I show you haw to do a full drain and flush on the same water heater. We got quite a bit more out of it.
