Secret tip (worked last time I was at STN a couple months ago): To bypass all the mall BS that comes after security, instead of scanning a fast track pass to make the shortcut door open, you can also ... just push the door with your hand. Pro: Doesn't cost money. Con: You have to use your hands and miss out on fancy automatic door action.
That's exactly right. Save to find a 14 pound ticket then making it over 200 pounds and drinking fizzy wine, the worst you can have to be aware of everything. All of this was crazy.
This video has once again shown what an idiot I am sometimes. I lived in London for 4 years and flew out of Stansted at least 50 times. I always had FastTrack and didn't know that you can save yourself the long walk through the DutyFree area and get directly to the lounge via a shortcut. Great video. Just out of principle, I will fly to my old home country again next year and then take the shortcut. 😝

I work for Ryanair out of Stansted, this is one thing that keeps coming up. Unfortunately “priority boarding” usually means you can bring a bag onboard and a bag in the hold, not being on the plane first.
You would assume so. However it is basically a way of Ryanair getting more money from the passenger. If you don’t buy priority boarding, and you bring a small case onboard. You get charged a further £60, but that still doesn’t allow you to bring the case on the plane
Reminds me of priority boarding. Sometimes, if a hotel is booked in combination with a flight, you‘ll automatically have priority boarding (therefore check your ticket) and depending on the airport, priority boarding just is a waste of money.
Ryanair are hilarious, priority boarding is included when you pay extra for hand luggage. So anyone who had any form of luggage gets priority boarding 😂
Not quite. It is for those who pay to carry on a wheels bag and this is regardless of whether or not you have a checked bag. Those without this can only bring on a small bag that must fit under the set. Priority boarding is to ensure that those who pay for the carry on of wheels bags actually find space. If you are not in a rush and have time to wait for delivery of a checked bag, you can bring twice as much luggage for the same price and do not need to board first if you then have no hand luggage and only have a coat and a newspaper. I like the idea of having this choice and depending on my needs will go for one or the other. With no hand luggage, you might as well board last. It involves less queueing and shuffling.
@@patrickmccutcheon9361 The problem arise when your travelling involve many days and only a hand luggage is not enough. You could just put everything in the checked bag, but there are some items you can not put in them (because it is illegal, for example powerbank, or unwise, for example something expensive like a camera). In this scenario, that I believe to be not so uncommon, you are actually force to pay two supplement, one for the checked bag and one for the priority. This is one of the reason why it is actually better, when comparing prices, to look at the prices you are requested to paid at the end of the check out and not at the starting price. (also adding the cost of transportations to from the airport and parking at the airports is also a good idea)

I would defenetly paid that for the ride, only part of the trip wich felt “first class” to me. Ryanair its kinda ok if u wanna go make a cheap trip, its defenetly worth it, however it feels like u sit on a train cause the attitude of the people and the quality of the service what you get...
The problem with the front row on Ryanair is that when the plane lands, everyone piles forward and it can be tough getting back to get your carry on luggage, especially if you're not one of the first on board
@@florianschaefer78 if your bag is, say at row 4, no one is letting you back to get it from row 1, so you're stuck there until most people are off the plane
When you book with RyanAir select the basic seat with no baggage, continue to the end and it will offer you baggage options/prices for chepaer than it was at the very start
I travel on Ryanair quite a bit, and I find there are usually more people with Priority boarding than non-priority. I think the demand is for the additional baggage allowance, and not getting on the plane first (or as is often the case, first to get on the bus which takes us to the aircraft).
i think the problem is the fact that more than half of the extra cost is actually the car to the airport. if you took first class stansted express it would still be first class but definitely cheaper and quicker :) i have never booked for priority security as usually you never wait for more than 20 mins for security and i think that the lounge in stansted is much better than many others, you can have a proper hot meal
My travel airport guide: 1. Book a midnight coach for a flight that leaves early in the morning 2. Upon arrival at the airport, check in as soon as I can 3. Buy food at the airport to eat on the plane 4. Walk around the airport by cisitibg different gates and looking at different flights outside the window and wonder, “where are these people off to”
@@marcmauldan8707 IB doesn't have a first class product I don't think, I few business from MAD to LHR on an a350 connecting from another long haul flight and that only had business. I reckon BA whilst having first only sells it as a business class ticket too (and may give high yielding members the first hard product to try on the short flight) I doubt they have many first pax connecting onto long haul flights, E.g. Someone flying first on a connecting MAD-LHR-LAX or HKG, but again on a 2hr flight how much can first really differentiate from business
When it comes to short flights I always thought there's not much of a difference between first class and economy. The seats are usually the same anyways.
We went thriough Stansted last week to Spain and why would you NOT pay for fast track.. best value £7-00 ever!!. Will need to keep an eye out for that sneaky shortcut to the lounge though. The breakfast in the lounge is amazing.. worth the earlier flight. Didn't experience the same as you at the gate though, so it must just be Ryanair.. all documents checked at Checkin and then before boarding so then it was very smooth... LOVE your idea of booking an extra seat next to you .. fantastic way of getting room at a cheap price .... Great video :-)

If you fly 5 + return trips a year, buy a Priority Pass, they are always doing promotions and offer good value. Got one 2 years ago as I had 15 flights booked (Dont tell Greta) each lounge visit worked out at about £12. instead of the usual £25+. At most UK airports, you buy a sandwich £4.50, a bottle of water £3.00, packet of crisps £1.25, bar of chocolate £1.50, thats over 10 quid! Why give WH Rip Off Smith all that money, lounges offer hot and cold food, hot and cold drinks and alcohol. Iv`e had the Ryanair Lasagne, its really good. Loved this First Class TPGUK production Nicky.
It amazes me how many people doing flight reports etc really don’t know much. Here’s a simple test, what is the best quality flight for the lowest cost, ie above basic economy flying from Paris to Adelaide in late September or early October. Let’s see if anyone can come up with something.

I understand that Ryanair Priority Boarding is underwealming for most passengers. There can be up to 100 priority passengers on each flight. The reason for this is, that separating the passengers into priority and non-priority is not meant for the passenger. It is only exists for operational reasons. Only priority passengers are allowed to bring a cabin bag on board. There is space for just about 100 cabin bags in the overhead bins, so priority is limited to 100 tickets per flight. All other non-priority passengers may only bring a small bag plus one duty free bag on board. Through this boarding procedure, the gate agent is able to single out passengers with excess handluggage, charge them and tag the bag way in advance, so the bag can be quickly loaded in the hold without delaying the flight. Without this procedure, every boarding would end in full overhead bins and last minute tagging and loading while delaying the flight. Ryanair passengers usually try to bring more handluggage (often too much), as check-in luggage costs extra.
After watching this video, I and travel companion bought the middle seat in row 1 only to be now told by Ryan AIr that row 1 seat cannot be a comfort seat! So frustrating as the extra seat was not cheap.
