My brother in law set up my rod with this. This was my first time ever flyfishing. I caught 5 fish in 3 hours up near Kelly Wyoming with this setup.

With the tag system do you ever have problems with tippet tangaling up around its self?

Bit late, but I hope this didn't stop you from trying. keep the tag end short, and a little bit of weight on the tag nymph also helps. I use a blood knot, which makes the tag end stand out at 90°. Tangling is not much of an issue. (Unless you're in a tree, or so I've heard from, uhm, friends...)

What’s the best way to connect the leader to the fly line?

confused with this trying the first time, my fly line loop seemed to be in the middle of my rod, if I had the full leader out of the rod my rod couldnt full the nymph out of the water for a cast. Should your fly be out of the last eye or all the way on the reel.

I prefer to make a little bit longer leaders then most for a euro nymphing rig. I like a 2wt wf floating line, with a 12ft powerflex 0x or salmon/steelhead in 12lb, with a 0x scientific angler tricolor sighter. It gives you a lot more options especially with dry dropper since you can do 40ft casts with that.
