Hi folks,
I recently flew to Hong Kong from Seattle and understand how stressful gathering all the necessary materials feels so I made this video to help out.
Below you'll find information to make your trip successful.
Leave any questions you still have in the comment section below and I'll do my best at answering them!
The documents you’ll need to enter Hong Kong:
- Passport
- HKID or Hong Kong work visa
- COVID-19 vaccination record card
- PCR COVID-19 test with a negative result taken within 72 hours before boarding the last flight before arriving to Hong Kong, for me that was Vancouver
- A laboratory certificate approved by the U.S government (if getting your test done in the states) with a wet signature, your name and passport number that identically matches your other travel documents
- A license of the lab that conducted the COVID-19 test matching the same address and state as the COVID-19 test and lab certificate
- Designated quarantine hotel confirmation of 14-nights stay
Pro tips:
- Arrive to the airport early
- Put your travel documents in an easy-to-access ziplock bag
- Pack snacks and a water bottle (not only for the flight journey, but also for your two-week hotel quarantine)
- Be friendly to the airport staff. I saw travelers argue with airport staff, and it didn’t look like it helped anyone’s situation
- If you have a work visa, make sure at the passport checkpoint in Hong Kong the agent stamps your visa as “Journey Completed” as this will help later when you need to apply for a HKID
