That was interesting. Very informative. I knew how to travel with an actual firearm. I had a feeling it would be similar if not the same. Sometimes TSA gets a little sensitive. Not that I don't understand. Just as long as they don't be too unreasonable.
Question on this: I'm planning on traveling with some of my teammates to Cali in the next year or so to see a bud of ours, and play CQB. I was wondering what to do with traveling with tornadoes, and thunder b's, whether or not to disassemble them.
wiill will actually anything pressurized is not allowed, if you can take the top off and leave it open then there allowed, but since you cant take off the top on a green gas or co2, then not allowed
In this video, he's using a electric rifle and a gas powered pistol. Im not the biggest airsofter but I know where to start. My first rifle was a electric Thomson that shoots 470 fps and is not that expensive. Now I have an average CQB M4 thats good for CQB City. And if your JUST starting out, dont worry about a side arm but if you really want one and you have money for it, get a gas powered WE Tactical Tan 1911. I have it myself and its a beauty. And Since it is a pistol that is not manufactured that much, it is a little hard to find the correct magazines for it. I bought 2 extra mags awhile back on Amazon for $13 each. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CORRECT MAGAZINES FOR THE PISTOL BECAUSE THERE ARE OTHER 1911 MAGS THAT SAY THEY WILL WORK WITH THAT PISTOL BUT THEY WONT. Do some research on the mags first before you buy them. Hope that helps.
I plan to fly to Scotland to play at section8 and the fort, is there any difference between flying internationally and what you mentioned in the video?
+Aldemar Santos Orange tip is only required when the replica firearm is being shipped via postal service. The TSA requires that all firearm cases be hard metal or plastic cases with at least 4 locking points. The lock on the case is optional I believe.
i think another thing that inst mentioned in here is TECHNICALLY LiPo batteries aren't allowed in check in baggage if they aren't installed in anything since they would be considered "spare" i believe its considered a fire hazard. www.faa.gov/about/office_org/headquarters_offices/ash/ash_programs/hazmat/passenger_info/media/faa_airline_passengers_and_batteries.pdf
How do you transport green gas or simulator grenades if you can. Do event like milsim west provide GG and smoke/pellet grenades for sale on site of the event?
How would it work if you went overseas and you had a transit flight? Do they look look at it again (if TSA or such people handling it) during the waiting time for the connecting flight? If anyone knows, appreciate it.
is that the voodoo tactical :"MOJO" loadout bag? im asking cause im looking for a bag and the mojo seems to be absolutely GIANT but this bag you had didnt seem to be massive like the other ones im seeing.
i wanna know what gun case you got. i just got some chinsy case that could easily be pulled apart, so im lookin for something a bit more rugged and safe to keep my stuff in.
333keb Its a generic case I picked up. Ive seen it used by Elite Force and other brands to box up an higher end AEG. Its a cheapo case that does the job for my airsoft gear.
In the USA, the orange tip does not need to be on the gun unless it is being shipped by postal service, so the guys know its not real when the gun goes through customs, but otherwise, the orange tip can be taken off. But even so, keep it in a case when in public, it is illegal to brandish any firearm or replica in a public place.
And how about flying abroad ? What if i bought myself a GBB pistol in America ,and I want to transport it to Europe (Poland) ? Is that may be a problem for me at the place of my arrival ?
+WiśniaTV You will have to research the laws in your country on their policy of replica firearms for the best chance of getting that pistol without failure.
Ok guys, side note and MilsimJunkie1 , this is the easiest way to do this. But, well depending on your airline, if you are on a budget and can't afford to bags and only one then what i did when I went to Operation Rec 2 in VA was got a BIG Army duffle bag, put my gun in it's case, and put that in the Duffle. Then I put in the rest of my gear such as Plate Carrier, clothes, Combat clothes, etc. May be hard to pack and cram in..but it saves you about 50 bucks depending ont he airline. Hope it helped!
Im going to CQB City in june im from Utah so I dont know alot about it one of my main questions is how do they pick the teams and what is the max fps for a aeg ? If you can get back to me that would be great. Thanks
Your parent / whoever is taking care of you will have to pretend that it's theirs. In UK you need a license ( only if you wanna travel with it ) so yea.
I will say as advise, you should invest in a battery fireproof bag. because then the batteries go on your carry on luggage. And incase one explodes and starts a fire there is easy access to them, but when their under the plane if they catch fire its a bad situation because no one can get to them.
Was about to ask the same thing because I found an Op in the jungle of Panama that I was looking to go to. 48hrs in the jungle with nothing but your squad and if your certified you can dive to do ambushes
edgajam If I remember correctly, going to the UK with airsoft guns is difficult, as they have restrictions on them. I think you can take them apart and ship them piece by piece. I could be wrong, that's just what I've heard on the topic.
Im almost 100% sure yes. Obviously if your not 18 then your not travelling by yourself, so just get whoever the adult is to do these steps. But the adult has to claim it as theirs.
+Gumby Nova The TSA prohibits firearms/replica firearms to be in any case besides a hard plastic or metal case with at least 4 locking points that cannot easily be pried open.
Cactus America That's only for real firearms, on their website it says that airsoft guns are literally just toys and they don't need to be declared or stored in a hardcase. Of course, declaring it helps to prevent confusion
you should NOT fly with your lipo batteries in a checked bag or gun case. lipo batteries can catch fire and can be catastrophic mid flight. bring yourr batteries on your carry on. if it catches fire it can be quickly dispatched by air flight attendants. dont cause your plane to crash cause your batteries blew out.
