Thanks so much for making this tutorial! I've been doing it wrong the whole time because I never knew the extra "inflation" step and made baskets out of flat pieces. They always went wrong and ripped on the way; well, now I understand what went wrong ^^'
I think this is a good tutorial for a beginner like myself because origami to the beginner can seem intimidating because you have to be so perfect, So I think seeing it this way, using the construction paper and him just winging it to just get the steps out there in a crude fashion was /is a good idea,it made me think I could do this,I think he just wants the beginner to just get down the repetition of making the pieces, accuracy will come later
i mean i see how it can help time wise...but it isn't the best way...it might be the fast way but not really the easy way and with 5 sheets of paper makes the folds impossible to see in my opinion i don't really like this method
I've been learning how to do this fold with copy paper that I have. What type of paper are you using? It looks pretty heavy-duty like cardstock. Thank you
One of those can be bigger than another, but It MUST be at 90 degree angle to the edge of the paper. Otherwise pieces will be in bad shape. After folding some pieces the slow way you should feel where are the middle line.
Hello Girnelis, I had come across this video, and found it very helpful. Please help me with my doubts, Where can i find 7*5inches rectangular origami paper? Do we have to use origami sheet for making swan? I have 6*6 inches square paper. Kindly help me out. Thanks
I have seen these pieces used for vases, dragons, swans, owls, and more. What do you think would be best for a beginning level art class? I myself am intermediate level but my art club is mostly beginners.
I was wondering can I use construction paper? ? And wat r the measurements of the rectangles or the big paper and does it have to be perfectly folded or it doesnt matter if they come out kinda sloppy? ?
***** Then how do you get colored paper?, I really need paper that is not so rough but is like printer paper and is colored like the ones in the video. Do you know where to get those?
I love the thinks you make. .. I want to try it to... Which tutorial is symple for me to start? Thanx for sharing this beautiful creations... Greetz from Holland
If you search amazon, you will find black paper. Personally I use AstroBrights 24 weight, but any kind is up to you. I am in the U.S. and most stores don't carry black paper, so we have to order it online.
I used to follow your pen technique to make the pieces round, but it was very hard. My hands hurt so bad when i did it. Does this fingers technique work the same way as the pen? Is it badder or better?
Thank You for this video. Now I know why I do it so slowly. I make pieces regular. I thought all Your pieces is regular too . In Your video when You fold to the middle line I see that "triangle wings" aren't equal. Is it important? Are that pieces have same size or difference between pieces sizes are tiny?
im not good with scissors so i just rip the paper at the crease, normally it works for me if the paper is torn when crease is at the right angle... i try to make all peices identical which is why i was afraid of stacking paper, since it shifts sometimes. I dont have any need for base triangles to be different sizes you see, but ill try your way
He is using A4 size paper which is slightly narrower and slightly longer than our 8.5x11" paper we use in North America. Your pieces will most likely be a bit narrower and longer than his would be but not much bigger
see it is good but your telling tht v cannot ask these questions in the comment section y and i want to know are we using this for evrythin what ever v make it ?????????
A person who does origami is naturally fast, but folding lots of paper at the same time will make it sad. therefore the folds are not happy ( straight and even ). So it’s basically the fact that he/she folded 5 pieces of kinda thick paper together which made the paper sad.
I'm trying to do it this way since it gets to be so quick, but even going slow I always find they end up in bad shape, or I can't fold it down in the second to last step, it tore a few times trying to, and my paper isn't even thick, it's just colored printer paper
