Works well! I had a faulty microSD card that would cause File Explorer to instantly crash. After following your tutorial it now recognises the card and it's usable again. Thanks!
i tried to creat partition primary but it it says no user free extend could be found. that it may be there is insufficient free spaceto creat a partition at the specified size and offset
tnx for this vid it helps me a lot. can't merge 2 unallocated partition in my external SSD using disk management. just the cmd will only be the solution. i even used third party apps to do that but it didn't work.

when I type create partion primary I just get a list of commands that starts like this Microsoft DiskPart version 10.0.22000.653 ACTIVE - Mark the selected partition as active. Can you please tell me how to get my 512GB SSSD back? right now it is a 1mb drive
Cool. That is if you have a working USB ... how do you format it if you get the error: "DiskPart has encountered an error. The Request could not be performed because of an I/O device error"?

I know I'm late to the party, but in case anyone else sees this question and has the same one: Yes, it does erase everything on the flash drive as soon as you use the "clean" command.
This seemed to work for everyone except me. I get an error saying "diskpart has encountered an error: the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. See the system event log for more information." 😮💨
after the commant "format fs=ntfs quick" it says "Diskpart has encountered an error: the parameter is incorrect. see the system event log for more information" what do i do now?

So after doing this there is no way the whole data can be recovered back? Even the forensic team cannot recover the whole data frm the thumb drive using special tools?

Having a problem with SLEEP mode(Win 10) latest update 1709. It puts the PC to sleep but upon wake the internet connection is lost.I can get it back by doing a restart, then every thing seems OK. I 've tried most all suggestion on line but nothing seems to work. Have you any advice ? Thanks
I will add if you've formatted it with GPT/UEFI, you can ignore the active command as GPT/UEFI has no concept of an active partition, and skip to assigning a letter.
Great info ,but how do I format external 16TB drive in DOS (before win7 starts up) . Maybe I should use one of the F keys to get me to the DOS environment and then follow your instructions ? Just checking ! 😀
